Not to mention being the guy with the ball in his hands, making the decison, and drawing a constant double.
If there is some of Peja and Webb in all of this, its people not getting the distinction, really the gulf, between the player who creates, and the player who finishes. The one player has the weight of the team on his shoulders, and often the weight of the other team too as they send waves of defenders at him. The other really only has to worry about his own game. Omri's going great, but how often is he doubled? How often is he running the offense?
That's not an implication that Omri is not a team guy BTW. Omri's laying it on on the line for the team more than just about any other shooter/scorer I can recall. But it is a question of roles and importance inherent to each position. The player who runs the offense, the player who draws all the opposing team's defensive attention, the star/superstar, is ALWAYS more important than any of the other guys on the team (assuming he's any good). Only time there is even a question about that is if you have a great big guy as well. Shaq n Kobe etc. But shooting/scoring wings?Basically never. (that's also not to sya if Reke started really struggling Omri could nto pass him, same way he is playing better than Jennings right now).
