Lakers forward Ron Artest on getting a reality show: "I'm working on something right now and it's gonna be the biggest sports story of the whole year. I promise you." Can you tell the people about it? "I would love to but it's like the ultimate turnaround of Ron Artest. You heard it here first. ... I would love to tell you right now but I did a couple of things this summer that got a lot of buzz and I'm gonna do something that's bigger than that. It's gonna be cool." -- WMVP (Chicago) / SportsRadioInterviews.com

Well Ron is in L.A. officially now, new show, rap career is back, playing with Kobe, wonder how long Kobe will stand for Ron getting more press than him LOL

Ron's life actually bears no relationship to reality. Should fit right in with all the other "reality" shows. ;)

I now loathe Ron Artest. I want to buy an Artest Laker Jersey just so i can attach it to a stick and set it on fire while i hold it out of my moon roof in my car and drive circles around staples center. Hopefully his little thai girlfriend will make frequent appearances on the show.

If it is anything like this: Either it's a good laugh or a sad tragedy

To Artest. Here's a classic case of someone hoodwinking the American public with a 10-year pattern of bizarre behavior that eventually immunized them to all future crazy Ron Artest stories and anecdotes, such as the fact that he's wearing No. 37 to honor Michael Jackson because it's the same number of weeks that "Thriller" led the charts (um, what?), or his recent revelation that he had been pining to play for the Lakers for two solid years. Artest told reporters that he wandered into the Lakers' locker room to express that desire to a showering Kobe Bryant -- right after L.A.'s bitter Game 6 thrashing in Boston in the 2008 Finals, no less -- adding, "Yeah, I walked in the shower. I'm not a homosexual or nothing like that, but Kobe had no clothes on."

These anecdotes just bounce off people now. Artest is a benevolent crazy. Or so we think. Being around this nuttiness every day is a little different from merely hearing about the nuttiness in secondhand anecdotes. I know for a fact he routinely broke plays on offense and is still a handful behind the scenes, and the Rockets buried every 2008-09 story that would have made this patently clear. For instance, Artest routinely walked around in his underwear in public places: the Rockets' team bus, hotels, you name it. People around the team barely flinched after a while. Before Game 7 of the Lakers series -- only the biggest game of the entire season -- they finally flinched.

Here's what happened: Artest missed the first two team buses (the ones for players, coaches and team personnel) from Houston's hotel to the Staples Center and barely made the third and final bus, which was reserved for business staff, sponsors and friends of the team. These stunned people watched Artest sprint to the bus right before it left, jump on and take one of the remaining seats ... yes, wearing only his underwear. Owner Leslie Alexander happened to be sitting on the bus and witnessed the whole thing. And you wonder why the Houston Rockets didn't make any effort whatsoever to bring back Artest.

On a side note he's now mad at Houston:

I still feel blessed but they messed up my bird rights. So it's on as long as I'm in the league

artest is nuts... how did they do him dirty when he bolted to the team that just knocked them out of the playoffs? damn good player but he is nutty.......

Believe me, I'm sure the Kings also buried a lot of potential stories on Ron activities and behavior behind the scene. There were hints of it. I am so glad we got rid of this guy. It's a wonder the Pacers put up with him so long.

I still heart Artest.

I dont get why people are mad he went to the Lakers two seasons after WE traded HIM to Houstin. (Well, season and a half after). Thats not as bad as Vlade, strait up bouncing on us for more cash (and thank god Petrie didnt match, Vlade was a shadow of his former self those final Lakers seasons).

I'm hope his show gets on Hulu...I dont have a TV.

Also....Those twitter posts. He isnt going to not take a shot in Houstin. He's going to jack a bunch of awful 3s. He'll do that every game. Plus his D is overrated, has been slipping for a couple seasons. He's going to give PJ a heart attack, possibly break Kobe's jaw in practice. As a Kings fan, I LOVE that Rons on the Lakers haha.

I'm not mad Artest went to LA. I just hope he screws with them like every other team he's been on. I'm thrilled he's anywhere but the Kings.

Wasnt so much directing that comment of mine to anyone posting in this thread. I just noticed a lot of negativity towards Ron when he signed with the Lakers.

...Course there is always a lot of negativity towards Ron no matter what he is doing :p

Ron Artest is yesterday's news... and people should be very happy he left here without a lot of his antics becoming public knowledge. I hope he and the Lakers get exactly what they deserve from each other.
