Rockets F McGrady suffers strained right hip

NEW ORLEANS - The Houston Rockets' hopes for home-court advantage in the postseason may have been dealt a serious blow.

All-Star guard Tracy McGrady suffered a strained right hip in Houston's 81-68 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Friday and is listed as questionable for the Rockets' game at San Antonio on Sunday.

While playing defense, McGrady jumped and landed awkwardly with just 3:19 gone in the first quarter. He was helped off the floor by teammates and went for X-rays, which were negative.

"Obviously, it's a big blow to us," said Rockets guard David Wesley, who scored 15 points. "We need to pick up his scoring, pick up his shots and pick up his rebounds. Then it becomes about focus."

Despite the victory, the Rockets trail idle Dallas by 3 1/2 games for fourth place in the Western Conference standings. The top four teams earn home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Okay, I hate to be happy when someone gets hurt but...yay! I'm happy about this one because Houston is right on our a**! They play Spurs next without McGrady...but then again Spurs are without Duncan so who knows....Hate to say it but I'm hoping Duncan and McGrady are out for awhile!!

He looked pretty good today in the game against the Spurs. Just shows how wrong early reports can be.

;)

yeah the media is making it a way bigger deal than it appears to be...he could of fooled me today...thats for sure...

Man!...I was so mad to see T-Mac playing after I read that article and they made it sound like his injury was going to at least put him out for ONE game....geez...well that's the last time I listen to injury articles! :D I guess I'm just happy to hear any bad news for the Rockets...
