Robert Horry Does it AGAIN !!!!!

The point is, I think, that Horry gets himself open. I watched closely on one play as he hung on the left wing before shifting over to the right to free himself of his guard. He did it while everyone was looking at Manu...and he did it so smoothly I might not have noticed had I not made a point to watch.

I honestly think he may be able to make himself momentarily invisible to the opponents.

;)

Are you kidding me ? As soon as Horry passed the ball to Ginobilli, Rasheed went over to trap the player in the corner. As sad as this might sound, it was only the second most retarded thing Rasheed did that night, he was extremely lucky the time expired while he was doing the Webber timeout call.

Robert Horry is now the most hated/loved clutch role player of all times.

Sacramento/Detroit=Hate
Los Angeles/San Antonio=Love

You know its funny. he broke our hearts a couple of years ago and we all hated him for it. but tonight I was actually rooting for him to make that clutch shot. I mean you cant change the past. as much as i am saddened we lost that series I am looking to the future in search of more glory for our team.

I found myself in the same situation. I'm rooting for San Antonio & was actually jumping up and down when Horry hit the shot. If you had told me three years ago that I would be jumping up & down when Horry hits a last second three I would never have believed it!

I love Horry, always have. I think a compelling argument could be made that he is one of the best power forwards of all time. He's about to match Jordan and Pippen for rings. If Dennis Rodman is on the list, then Horry should be too, for the same reasons. Clutch play, and a guy that will absolutely destroy an opponent without ever getting a play called for him.

These are the Horry gm winners I can recall:

1995 WCFs, Gm1, Hou @ SA (94-93)
2002 WCQF, Gm3, LAL @ Por (92-91)
2002 WCFs, Gm4, Sac @ LAL (100-99)
3/5/03, Ind @ LAL (95-93)

...

yesterday @ Det

Wonder if a Spurs fan can fill in that gap. Don't know what he's done with Houston before that. He hit a big 3 that pretty much won a Finals game @ Philly in 2001, but there was 30 secs left or so.

Er...not going THAT far.

But am agreeing with the props for him as one of the great clutch players, and maybe THE great clutch roleplayer of all time. Just silly after awhile. Definitely been a significant factor for a number of championship teams. In fact think its fair to say that for at least 3 of the 6 teams (assuming the Spurs win this one) they do not win their titles without him. That's pretty remarkable for a a guy who has averaged 7pts 5rebs over his career.

you either hate or love him it just hurts when it is your team just like he did it to the kings in 02 he did it to pistons in 05 the thing is both teams had a chance to go up in the final sec kings hand vlade for free throws i think he only maks 1 not two makes both we aare up 3 not 2 different outcome pistons have to chances at the basket but blow it and mr clutch does it again thats what a clutch player does just which he could have miissed like he did last year aganist the lakers Love the kings always

jcox, I am far from the grammar police, but PLEASE, punctuation is your friend. ;)

That was a fun game to watch, and I was mightly impresed with both teams. Those guys played with intensity and aggression. It was very impressive, indeed.

Unfortunately, what dominated my mind at the end of the game was the stark realization that the Sacramento Kings (as configured) will never beat either of those teams in a seven-game series. These two teams might even make our guys wear pretty little dresses out on the court by the fourth game. Our guys, God love em, are just not tough enough to be on the court, at playoff time, with the likes of Tim Duncan, Ben Wallace, Robert Horry, Rasheed Wallace, or the others.

That's just my impression.

And, unfortunately, I think it's an accurate impression, qd...

The Sacramento Kings, as configured, would be lucky to take one or two games from either of those teams...

There's a lot of work to be done to get the Kings back to the top of the heap, so to speak. I'm thinking it is logically going to be a work in progress for the foreseeable future...

(That crash you may have heard in the background was my expectations...)

;)

Man, Robert Horry had an awesome game although I hate him (since when he scored that 3 against the Kings in 2001 or sumthing like that) the dude was like 5/6 from downtown and POSTERIZED Rip!! Pistons better win two in a row!

Have you read the rest of the thread?

I think you'll see that a lot of us "hated" him after that dagger in 2002. However, when someone can do it on a regular basis to more than just one team, you do have to give him his due.

As far as the Pistons winning two in a row IN SAN ANTONIO to win their second title? I think the odds are against them...

And so is this Kings fan!

GO SPURS!!!

:D

Good thing your heart belongs to the Kings, right?

Yep. Three years...

An eternity in one way, but just like it happened yesterday in others.

...

...

Boy, we were GOOD back then. Really heart-stopping, take your breath away good...

...sigh...

Am I kidding you? No, I wasn't even particularly talking to you...

My point was pretty much the same as yours, simply said a little more colorfully. I honestly think Horry made himself invisible, making Wallace think he could shift over and cover Manu.

sheed has been smokin too much **** lately and didn't realize he was messing with the most clutch 3 pt shooting power forward in the league! geezus didn'the watch all those games where he killed opponents fromthe 3 pt line??????
sickening

Horry looked like he hurt himself on that monster dunk, missing the free throw after it pretty badly, I admit, I didn't even expect him to take the final three.

Then you don't know Robert. :)

Actually, the other thing with Horry is that he flops and fakes with the worst of him -- really pissy little soccerish trait. So you never know exactly how badly he really IS injured, if at all. He missed the FT, so maybe he really was. But if I was playing him I would never for an instant believe he was ever really hurt unless I saw the bone poking through the skin.

Yes, I'm sure he watched them...he was on the opposing team a few times himself with Portland. :D

Ah, there's the clue. Being on the Blazers, he might actually have been in too much of a ... fog ... to see what happened.

;)

Wait...

Are you saying that he is no longer in a "fog" since he left Portland? I thought that kind of a "fog" followed you everywhere. :p

Well, I was actually referring to the rest of the team on the bench and the residual ... fog.

;)

I am burned out. I called it, I saw the **** inbounds play, and called it. Just like I did in 2002.

I was on the floor. In the fetal position. This is my 1st time on the internet since. I am just burned out.
