Rick Adelman

Adelman has performed superbly the past two games. I have to wonder if him going Popovich opened the flood gate to a lot of suppressed anger that he'll now feel better about expressing.

;)

Well, he is the reason that Pedja played well tonight. On the other hand he had enough reason to yell again at the end of the 3rd and did not do it. We are still only 9-12 and an ugly schedule so he remains under lot of pressure.
The guy obviously cares so much. He put 7 years of his life in this team and he is still not tired of it. Would be great if we turn it around, make PO and he gets his deserved fairwell. Whoever comes next will have some big shoes to fill.

^^From what I heard from someone at the game, he DID in fact yell. We didn't see it because it was during a commercial.

I certainly hope so because Mike and Brad really tried hard to give the game to the Hornets. He did not bench anyone but then again You have to have someone to play instead and we kinda don't

Do to the lack of bench Adelman has to play the starters 40+ minutes to get a win. Tonight 4 of 5 played 42+ minutes on the 2nd game of a back to back and Bonzi didn't probably because of foul trouble.

Not to sure how long this can last like this. If Adelman gets fired this year it will be because of his bench and he'll have to thank his friend upstairs for that.

Adelman has never been the problem.

For sure. Year after year, Adelman has shown he can get a bunch of people who have never played together and in short order get them playing solid basketball. Maybe the Maloofs are tired of paying for quality replacements, maybe Petrie has screwed up. I don't know about any of that. However, I for one will be sorry to see RA coach his last game for us.

In another post I had mentioned that I believed the players had stopped listening to Adelman. It's great that Adelman is starting to go Popovich on the players, and it seems they are finally hearing him. Go Adelman.

how does brad barely missing a triple double make him trying to give the game away???

I didn't see that, but I was trying to pay attention to the new boy during timeouts in an attempt to at least pretend that I cared he was there.

I thought of you the other day while at the grocery store -- they were selling computer keyboards that are thin, flexible and completely water/food proof.

:D

The frightening thing is going to be when our GGG finally falls for somebody and she suddenly starts coming in here all mushy and gushing about how cute the boy is for having gotten an extra straw and shared his iced latte with her. :p

Basketball isn't the only place in which I'm annoyed by softness. Someone pulls that, and its time for a trade.

Ah, come on GGG...you've got to embrace that inner girl. ;)

right before beating the crap out of her. :p

I would like the Kings to be the first NOT to fire a coach based simply based a bad start. The guy has given us 7 years and always kept us as an upper echelon team. I for one, will not call for Adelman's head after every loss (maybe every 2;))

During Elston Turner's interview yesterday he was rather adamant that Adelman is not the problem and should stay. It was mention that it is the Maloof's who are getting edgy and mentioning (where I don't know) that maybe a coaching change is needed.

I agree, the coach is not the problem. It is getting the starters and bench playing on the same page and moving the ball as they did vs Sonics and Hornets. Tho' against Hornets he vented a bit a la Popovich when they tried to use offense as a defense and were matched too easily by the young, quick Hornets.

They are 21 games in. We saw two games in a row of similar effort, tho it tailed off a bit. The next 4 will see if they can maintain it.

If Adelman coaches like he has coached the last 2 games, but mainly the game in Seattle, keep him from here to eternity. The problem is when comfort sets in, Adelman doesn't always coach like that. And other than that he is missing a small piece of something that can not be taught, it isn't passion, and it doesn't matter how much you yell, the Killer Instinct. He just doesn't have it. Hence while he's had teams that have always almost gotten there. That's my only real problem with him. The personality of a team starts with the coach and trickles down to the players.

Dude, I don't understand when you say "I agree, the coach is not the problem. It is getting the starters and bench playing on the same page..." Isn't that very much part of the coach's responsibility? I'm not saying that Adelman is the problem, just trying to clarify what his responsibility is.

Whatever, let's see how long this lasts. Adelman is actually coaching and riding his players for poor performance and not putting up with mental lapses and poor plays(See Peja riding the pine at the end of the 1st half against Seattle) more than likely because Management told him in that closed door meeting the Bee alluded to after the Houston game. If this continues I will be happy but Adelman has shown a tendency to do this in spurts and then let the team fall back into their old ways again.

The only thing I hate about this guy is he let's the bench in at 2nd Quarter. Everybody knows that we don't have that "Deep Bench". That's why better teams butcher us in 2nd and/or 3rd quarter.
