To the question of whether I would answer neither...yes I probably would. I like Rubio, have long tagged him as one of the two guys (along with Thabeet) with a special talent I would like to get out of this draft. But all this hype...too much given what I haven't seen. I am not a believer at that level. He could be really good. Or he might end up another Goran Dragic. And I consider those two young bigs, not Kevin, to be the two most valuable pieces this franchise currently has. So I think my answer would be neither. I'd do what it takes to get him here with almost anything but those two. But jsut ripping up a fontline we finally got young patches over to get a PG who may or may not be the best PG in an incredibly deep PG draft...no, I don't think I do that. I just do not believe that deeply without having seen more.
Thanks. Makes sense. I just wanted to hear it from you since your take on acquiring a superstar was a bit more extreme than a lot of the other posters here.

serious... someone mentioned they'd give up thompson for the #2 and we still keep our #4... that would be tough but i'd think about it vs no chance i'd trade either big AND the #4 for Rubio

the worst part about this is that we should have had at least the 2nd or 3rd pick this year!!!

Well if we do end up with Rubio without actually trading for him, then its not really relevant whether we got pick 2, 3 or 4 because we would get the same player that we wanted anyway.

I just don't want to get my hopes up. We are Kings after all and we all know what that means. I would be very pleasantly surprised if we get Rubio with pick 4. I am already prepared for one of Flynn, Evans, Holiday, Harden, Curry type picks. Either way, I am comfortable that Petrie will get a good player there, might even turn out to be the best player from the draft down the track.

i wouldnt want to trade both... id rather trade martin than these two.. a martin trade for 2 pick would work if rubio falls to okc. then pick evans at 4

were talking bout a near 6foot5 point guard... with bb IQ off the charts and possibly a tenacious defender..

We shouldn't think that way but I think the same lol, it feels like we're the Kings so we will get no breaks and somehow all the bad luck gravitates to us >.<

I'm hoping for the best though, whatever Petrie does I'll be confident, I think the last few years have proven that he knows what he is doing when it comes to drafting...it seems whoever he drafts everyone is upset about and then we see them play and we love that he picked that player.

I guess if you say so, it must be true. You are the final word on this, right?
Well, if you ignore the multiple professional sports analysts that think that, realistically, only Griffin has signs he might become a franchise player.

I am not saying they are all right, it is a guessing game. I do however, think annointing Rubio a franchise player is a way overblown notion, at this point.

If we get him, I just want a guarantee he'll be a perrennial All-Star. ;)
