He's the best player and #1 option on a 38 win team that's 3rd in the conference. Sparked them into the playoffs last year. That's proof enough. Yeah, the Celtics are a "sum of many parts" but they don't have anyone on that roster who can come duplicate his scoring and playmaking. As what was said many times in the other Ray Mac thread, 21-7 with great efficiency doesn't grow on trees.
Just too hard I guess for people to give him the credit he deserves.
