Oh, I didn't realize that. Thanks for setting me straight.

Yeah. I was quite uncertain as well. way to go v21.SacTownKid said:Oh, I didn't realize that. Thanks for setting me straight.

Hey he's 7'1" and could be in there if we needed him. Not sure why he hasn't played much the last few seasons but I guess a lot of people didn't see him play in Dallas, b/c, while having flaws, it can get MUCH worse.
D-Mass said:Yeah, seriously...he really sucks. Are we to the point where we're considering picking up people just because it could be worse? There's a reason that there was a huge amount of sarcasm in the original reference to Zhi Zhi...he's terrible. No team wants a 7'1" player whose greatest skill is shooting the 3.
SacTownKid said:Dang, I thought he would have been a perfect backup for Brad too! Man...
Seriously I was talking garbage time guy. Plus didn't Petrie say that you can't compete in this league without 3 point shooting?
Kev.in said:Brad at the 4 playing next to Vlade compared to Brad at the 4 playing next to Rasho would be night and day.
Someone like Emeka Okafor would be good, but how many Okafor's are out there?
IF (BIG IF) the Kings cannot trade for a better rounded player than Skiner I am all for playing Skinner next to Brad (It it makes some of the Yahoos happy to call Skinner the Center and Brad the PF Fine) the two do at least on paper complement eachothers game. To bad we did not see that combo much at all last season. But if Denver is ready to deal Boozer and a trade can be made for him well that's a no brainer.Kev.in said:Brian Skinner is better than Rasho Nesterovic.
How many people remember when KingsFans.com was split on who the Kings should've gone after two summers ago: Brad Miller or Rasho Nesterovic? A lot of the people who wanted Rasho also felt that Miller wasn't any better than Pollard.
Since then, Rasho has only gotten worse. He strikes me as a guy who doesn't really care about basketball. He'd be perfect for the Hawks or Hornets.

Čarolija said:If we could do Kenny Thomas for Rasho then I would do it for a number of reasons.
1) Rasho's deal runs for 4 years while Kenny's goes on for another 5.
2) Rasho is a legit 7 footer, where as Thomas is a tweener.
3) Rasho is a very good shot-blocker, Kenny is not.
I wouldn't want Rasho to be our starting C but I wouldn't mind him as a reserve. Sure he is over-paid, especially as a reserve BUT I would rather be spending $6.7 million on Rasho than $6.1 million on Thomas.
Kings113 said:Agreed there, Rasho's shotblocking skills would be a very nice addition, and it's not like he can't shoot, he has a solid jump shot.

the same Skinner who forced adelmans hands to put the injured Brad Miller back in the starting line up, because Skinner couldn't stop the Great Jerome James????
i think if the seatle series showed us anything, is that the current group of big men are not going to cut it... regardless of which starts!!!!
VF21 said:It's the same Brian Skinner who severly jammed both thumbs, restricting his ability to grasp, catch, shoot, throw, pass, etc.
For the record, Skinner wasn't alone out there on the court when Jerome James was looking like an all-star. In fact, a lot of the time he wasn't on the court at all!!! I know, it's just details, right? Brian should have leaped from the bench, tackled James, and kept him in a strangle-hold until he was removed from the game.
Skinner averaged 11 minutes per game. James averaged 32 minutes per game. Do the math.
VF21 said:Oh good. Another center with a jump shot.
Is it too much to ask for a center who has a post game? The way some of these guys act nowadays, you'd think the reason they stay out of the lane is they saw a "Wet Paint" sign and think it's talking to them.

My suggestion is that if the KIngs can't find a better PF to ply Skinner and Brad TOGETHER. Not shure how that would work but James was palying over his head against injured Skinner and Injured Miller one at a time. I'll take a healthy Brad over James any day and if you will note my parenthetical remarke I don't see Skiner as a Center. He does make a nice low post 4 to paly along a high post 5 like Brad.kingsofnba said:this is the same brian skinner that allowed Jerome James to look like second coming of Shaquille O'Neal in the 1st round of the playoffs??? the same skinner that allowed JJ to score 17pts, 15reb, and 5blks in game 1 last year??? while he scored 4pts, 5 rebs????

Actually having two sprained thumbs would affect you on defense as much as on offense. Skinner couldn't be as agressive on the boards or playing D, a lot of James points came on offensive putbacks. And lets not forget Skinner is only about 6'9" and around 245lbs, we were asking him to play against a 7'1" 280lbs player. Granted Jerome James ain't Shaq, but if you were asked to play against somebody 4 or 5 inches taller weighing over 30 lbs more and have two bad thumbs, I don't think you would of done much better. The reason Adelman went with Miller was because Miller could iniate the offense in the high post and stretch the defense, plus he was another offensive threat. With Skinner in there nobody on Seattle would really guard him and double on Bibby or Peja.kingsofnba said:Having two sprained thumbs may account for his offensive woes, but the last time i checked, most people can still play decent defense with that injury... injured thumbs don't prevent someone from putting an effective body to block someone, deny entry and position in the lane, or to raise up his arm to contest a shot does it???.... this is jerome "garbage bag" james, not shaq oneal.... even with that injury rasho could have prevented the disaster that happened in game 1....
and the reason he averaged 11 minutes/ game was becasue he was so ineffective against james in game one.... 17pts, 15rebs, 5blks in Game 1 by james.... sore thumbs or not, that is ridiculous stat line for james who avg. 5pts/5rebs per game
adelman basically chose to go with "one legged" brad instead of "no thumbs" brian, that should tell you how adelman felt about skinner as a starter... most would consider returning from a broken leg much more serious of an injury than sprained thumbs, yet adelman still went with brad and sat skinner after game 1...
Don't get me wrong, skinner would be an excellent backup C/PF... but there is a reason he has not been a starter in the nba... don't expect him to all of the sudden become ben wallace, when he didn't even start for the sixers.... last time i checked rasho started the whole last 2 seasons for the world champions Spurs, with the most demanding coach in poppivich....
