i like skinners rebounding and shot blocking, but defenses would just collaspe on peja, bibby and miller when skinner is playing... skinner is better on defense than thomas, but no where close to thomas offensively.... that is why adelman would never start Skinner in front of Thomas at PF...
Well we added Bonzi to the mix so we have 4 capable players who can score in our starting lineup. We need somebody in the lineup who can do the dirty work for us which means hustling after the ball, sacrificing his body to get an extra pocession for us and Skinner is really the closest thing on our current roster who can do that. With 4 players in our starting lineup who can get 20 points on any given night, we can afford to have a player with the offensive capabilities like Skinner to start.

I think RA will probably start Thomas in front of Skinner at the PF, because our system is in love with players who can stick jump shots, but Skinner would be a better fit given the players we have in our starting lineup. If we keep Thomas, I wouldn't mind having him in the second unit as our offensive weapon, though highly unlikely.

Thomas won't be the starting PF, that's the thing.

And I agree with you on your post about a rebounder/hustler/dirty work guy in our starting line-up.

It's a prediction. Very likely one at that. Petrie's talked about size (obviously meaning the PF spot and now back-up center spot probably) many times since the Sonics series.

What, do you think Thomas will be our starting PF come November?

Just thought you may of had some insight after reading the pretty definitive statement you made.

I hope he's not the starter, but if so, it could be worse.

Guys, i like Chris Bosh as our Starting PF or C(if you're going to move Brad to 4). Do you think we have a shot at him through trade?
I don't see them getting rid of him...I would love it, but I think they've demonstrated that they plan to build a team around him.

It's the Raptors (soon to be known as the "Clippers of the East")!

They just drafted Charlie V. So who knows what they are doing up there in Moose Country?

Chris Bosh may be available since toronto drafted charlie villenuava, who plays the same position... he would be a great player to get- young, athletic, long, rebounder and shot blocking.... but for the kings to get him, they would definitley have to trade one of their core players.... either peja, bibby or miller would need to be included in any trade for him....

for toronto to trade bosh, they would almost certainly want the other team to take jalen rose's massive contract.... if the kings could package Peja (since he will be a free agent next year), Thomas and Corliss in a package for Chris Bosh and Jalen rose then toronto may make the trade.... but would the kings take such a huge move???... Bosh is a young and upcoming PF, he may be worth the risk, especially since Peja will be asking for max money next summer...

San Antonio is under the cap, so if we dumped Corliss/KT's contracts with some sort of Evans sign and trade, I wouldn't be too mad. Rasho's contract is bad too, but at least he's not undersized.

San Antonio isn't under the cap.

San Anotnio is looking to trade Rasho for cap relief, likley to be able to sign Nazr, so any deal will have to come by waya player with a much shorter term contract, i.e, forget trading players like Skinner or Thomas for Nasterovic.

well if thats what they're looking for good luck. Its going to be hard to trade Rasho's contract for ending ones. Unless there is somebody out there thinking that Rasho is great or something.

Yup. This could be a good move for the kings. Granted, Jalen Rose's contract is massive but i think it is down to 2 years. When his contract expires the kings will free up enough salary cap space to sign a significant free agent OR the kings may use the one-time amnesty clause and waive Rose(is this applicable for newly traded players?). Just a thought.

You can't waive a player's contract. You can only get relief for the luxury tax hit. They would still have to pay Rose.

It may be true. But afterall there are teams that do silly things like sign Ostertag to hefty contracts.

rumor has it the spurs are trying to trade rasho nesterovic for a small forward to backup bruce bowen, the spurs only glaring need right now... they are looking for a small forward with a smaller contract than rasho to trade for....

if we could get Rasho Nesterovic straight up for corliss williamson, would you do it???...

at the very least, he would be a great backup center... at best, he could start at center and allow brad to move over to power forward... if he backs up brad, he allows skinner to play his more natural position of PF... he definitly would give us some much needed rebounding and shot blocking....
