Did u all hear rasheeds guarantee? He guaranteed they would win game six and that they(the nba) would send some good people out there(the refs) and that they would win and there would be a game 7. He also said u guys(the media) should know that already. Boy is this gonna pee off davis stern even though it most likely would be his idea anyways. I think david stern should be replaced as comissioner anyways. That guys view on basketball is bad for the league.

David Stern's view on basketball is bad for the league?

Could you explain?

All I'm saying is the way he has set up certain rules and many other things I've seen over the years that I can't remember right now.

Stern is probably the secound best commish in the world when it comes to sports. Look at what he done for the league and basketball in general in the last 20 years.

Out of curiosity, who would rank ahead of Stern in your eyes?

Hmm... Rasheed guaranteed a win? That means NOTHING. Its game 6... already a must win. Its like saying "I have to pick the right lottery numbers in order to win"... duh. Rasheed just likes to say that but ususally he says it about a game that isnt already a must win.

What I'm saying is he guarantees the league would make sure they win in order to have a game 7.

He was just comissioner at the perfect time because I don't know if you remember 3 guys named bird, magic, and jordan. Com on', if it wasn't for those guys saving the league and making him look good, he wouldn't even be comish right now. The league is just keeping him because they fear change wouldn't be good.

I think hes right too but I dont think they need the officiating to win. I think they can flat out beat Miami at home either way.

I don't think they need the officiating to win either. I'm just saying what rasheed said. I also still pick detroit to win the series and the championship.

I've always had mixed feelings about David Stern. I guess my only real gripe with him is his seeming refusal to address that stinking, rotting corpse that used to be fair and competent NBA officiating. Considering how well he handles every other aspect of running the NBA, it makes me wonder how much power and influence he truly has in regards to Officiating. Is the referee's union really that powerful as to make it's members bullet proof?

Stern does a great job. NBA refs have been taking heat since before he was even thinking about running the NBA. The NBA has so many rules, the smallest playing surface of the major pro sports and some of the best athletes in the world. It's always going to have bad/questionable calls. Even on the playground and at the YMCA you got disputed calls.

The refs take it upon themselves to even things out. That's what I've seen happen more often than I've seen big market teams or big ticket players getting the blatantly bad calls. If you look at this series, that's what the bad calls have been, so-called make up calls or sympathy calls. Rasheed is right too, Game 6 you'll see those ticky-tacky fouls on Miami again. I just don't think he's right about why it's going to happen and there's no need to say it because you just become a target later on and have to pay a fine.

He's probably not right, but it's not as if 'Sheed isn't already a big target for the league anyway, and what's $20 grand to that guy? Akin to a $20 fine a normal person.
