Quincy Pondexter?

When Q got to play in the playoffs and got solid mins off the bench @SF/SG he produced very nicely, the guy is a bouncey exlposive (2 footer primarily) athlete, plays D well, excellent off the ball movement and spreads the floor (his 3-point shoot since he came in has improved grealty 39.5%). He brings amazing energy and while his season numbers might not be that great the guy is a perfect glue guy to have on the floor imo.

I would love to have this guy getting solid mins as ethier our starting SF (assuming we can't draft/acquire a above average SF) or backing up both Reke/SF and providing great mins. I certainly think he would be expandable to the Grizz and is a competitive, full of energy (but calm at the same time) type player who could impact the game for the Kings very well much better than his stats may indicate. I guess he would be something like a SF version of Tony D but more athletic in some ways, I don't know there's just something I really like about this kid and think he would fit in well with the Kings crew.

Was anyone else impressed by Q during the playoffs?

Why would Memphis give him up. They spent late first on very athletic guy who had potential to be come a good shooter (shot .827 from FT line his senior year), developed him and now have a rotation player. Why wold they give him up? Unless somebody wants to offer him MLE, which would be stupid, I expect him to stay there for $3-4 million per year. He doesn't have ball skills and is not a great defender, so I wouldn't expect him to get MLE contract.
I agree on the impact he might have on this team that is in dire need of hard workers who know their limitations(I'm talking to you, JJ) and are not a liability on offense(hey, here you are again, James).

We've sort of gotten into this habit of wanting to go through everyone's trash can. And I realize that in some cases, one man's trash is another man's treasure. But I don't consider Pondexter treasure. Yes, he had a few good games in the playoffs, but you judge a player by the entire body of his work. To start with, Pondexter is 6'6". Hell, we might as well just stay with Salmons if we want an undersized SF. One of my knocks on Pondexter coming out of college wasn't his shooting, but that I didn't think he was quick enough to guard SG's, or tall and long enough to guard SF's. He is, and probably allways will be a situational player. Not that its a bad thing, but its not something I lust after.

I have to go now and wash out the bad taste in my mouth. Someone just mentioned James Johnson and ruined my morning.
