Of all the players on the list who do you think we should go after next year using our MLE. I know it is a little early for this but I could not sleep. The ones in bold are ones I think we should try to go after.

Antoine Walker
Chris Crawford
Gary Payton
Othella Harrington
Frank Williams
Scott Williams
Dale Davis
Tyronn Lue
Kerry Kittles
Bobby Simmons
Marko Jaric
Earl Watson
Stromile Swift
Marcus Fizer
Eddie House
Latrell Sprewell
Casey Jacobsen
Qyntel Woods
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Damon Stoudamire
Jerome James
Donyell Marshall
Milt Palacio
Raja Bell
Larry Hughes
Juan Dixon

I think those are ones that could help solve our weakness on the defense. The one I would really love but we do not have a real shot at is Swift. But the others I think would be a welcome addition to our lineup.

uh yeah...just SLIGHTLY premature. The real question is what will the team look like next year? If we fall short again I am predicting a large scale rebuilding with many/most of the core guys replaced, so our needs may change radically.

Anyway:

-- we already have Harrington. Goes by the name Songaila on our roster.
-- is Bobby Simmons for real? His breakout is one of the most unexpected in the league this year. In any case, after a breakthrough year as a starter, no way he signs with somebody as a backup.
-- Jaric is an interesting possibility, but may command more than the exception.
-- Swift would be great, but its quite likely somebody will offer him $8 mil a year on potential alone and we will have no shot.
-- Casey Jacobsen is bench filler, nowhere near a midlevel guy
-- Quintel Woods is a scum. Nobody wants any part of him.
-- Marshall would be a great fit + a possibility if the team somehow stays together. But could also get offered more than the exception.
-- Bell is always a possibility as a replacement Doug. Not sure if he could hang in our system (again, assuming our team and system remotely resembles the one we have now).
-- Hughes is way above the exception level. No chance there.

That is a possibility that we might try one more year with our core guys. It also depends on how we play this year and how Petrie will deal with coaching. I think it will depend on who we get as a coach. If we keep Rick then I can see not much change to our core guys. If we get someone else for coach that might be a different story. I just assumed that we will keep Rick and the core. It makes it more of a defined topic.

I think the greatest shot would be Marshall from the list of hopefuls that I had in bold. But I would not mind if we had Bell either or even Jaric:D for that matter.

It would be very very hard for me to root for Bell... still remember his chicken sheeet play on Bobby 2 years ago when Boby had the broken cheek bone and Bell intentionaly went for his face instead of the Ball...
