So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

Three point shooting was the difference -- our guys missed them and Steph doesn't miss. This game doesn't count though so who cares! We get two more chances to beat them this month that will actually count.
I know it doesn't count but I'm still cheesed about the playoffs. Congrats on going all out to win a pre-season game though.

I can only hope we learned more from the loss than they get out of sticking it to us hopefully for the last time.

Of course. Lots to clean up defensively for sure. Fox has to know, you can't give up a 3. Drive him, play him to the rim. SMH.

The story of the game is that corner play off the short pick and roll. Very late to react to that. Cost them in the playoffs too.
It's almost impossible to contest Steph's shot when he's the primary ballhandler -- he'll just run his defender into a screen. It's almost always an illegal screen and it almost never gets called. This is why playing the Warriors will continue to suck always and forever until Curry retires.

If you play Curry to one side he'll drive the ball if he's pressured. Up 2, you don't play anyone squared up beyond the 3 point line.

Although today with Draymond out, there was at least a chance that the Warriors' screen setter wouldn't throw a random still-at-full-momentum hip check into De'Aaron's back.

I'm completely over Huerter. He can't make his 3s. He has FT yips all the time.

Please trade him away for somebody else.
Huerter has been the only real dark spot for this team other than the high expectations for Sasha (who I think will actually be ok once he adjusts). Huerter is the weak link unfortunately

See I think losing two pre-season games in a row to them right before the start of the season plays into our favor. They'll come into the actual regular season games just slightly more cocky/confident and we'll come into them slightly more cheesed/motivated. These teams are so closely matched that actually could end up being the difference.

Oh and the early returns on CP3 and Steph forming the most annoying backcourt duo in basketball is exactly as bad as we thought it would be. God is it going to feel good when we beat these guys.

Well, hopefully the hurt when the game doesn't count gets them dialed in early this season. Can't waste any games early if you're the run it back team. This needs to hit the ground running week 1. Get aggressive Keegan every night and this has a chance to go somewhere if his play holds up.

If Brown doesn't look at the video and see Kerr hiding one of those guys on Keegan and salivate, then he's not paying attention to the right things, hahaha.

We are NEVER going to beat these guys cuz you know why? There is no God, obviously cuz they keep winning. Be realistic.

I thought I couldn't despise a team more than the Lakers, but the Warriors are right up there with them now.

It's disappointing that we don't have anyone on the floor that's a threat other than Fox at crunch time. Fox can't win going 1-on-5 always. Even in earlier possessions, the players were playing "hot potato" with the ball before it got to Fox.

Mike Brown wasting that challenge and losing a timeout meant we can't advance the ball.

Props to Steph, he did what superstars are supposed to do.

First of all, i just wanna say i have never been more excited for a brand new Sacramento Kings NBA season. Anyway, the Warrior announcers are insufferable and even in these highlights i can see a few missed calls with Sabonis getting hacked at least 3 times before a shot lol some things never change, huh?

Btw, Keegan Murray is special. We're lucky to have him!

That was bad reffing. Even if the refs didn't see it odds are he's out, or was out, and came back in without establishing position. If Keegan solidifies himself as that real number 2 option and doesn't waffle on attempts or aggressiveness Fox doesn't have to carry the whole game at least. That's a huge step up.

None of our best shooters made their three point shots today and they still barely beat us. For a game that doesn't mean anything, I consider that a moral victory.

I'm not impressed by the Warriors. They have one trick. It's a damn good one but not even Steph is making 8 threes every game. The difference between last year and this year is that this year Fox knows we're better than them. You can see it in his body language. And he's right! The Warriors whole thing is mental intimidation. If you can get past their fusillade of fake confidence / swagger they're actually pretty beatable most nights. They have no size on the interior and they're relying on 38 year old Chris Paul and Cory freakin' Joseph as their guard depth.

Brown should never play Huerter down the stretch in the 4th. Like I said before, he is the weakest link on the Kings defense. Him allowing penetration is what kills everything. Did you also see him jumping at a fake shot? This ain't the first time I seen that...I am sick of it....I understand they need him for offensive prowess but in doing so...it makes the team defense very weak...it's basically 4 on 5 in terms of guarding defense which put a lot of stress on the team defense. Thank God they have Duarte....hopefully, he'll start when when the regular season start. I am done with Huerter to be honest. He can't be guarding the starter on the other team, it's always a mismatch...EVERY SINGLE TEAM!! To be a starter, you have to be AT LEAST guard decently...you don't even have to be great...but just have to be decent....but Huerte with his happy unplanted feet...is never going to be great at defending.

I am impressed once again with Coby Jones. He's very poise and look to take over whoever is struggling like Mitchell or Huerter. As for Vezenkov...I can't understand what is his purpose in the game. I thought he's automatic with his shots? But he keeps missing them. Is Trey Lyle hurt? I didn't see him in the game.

I like the substitution...I think Brown is getting serious with the substitution because regular season is almost here. He play Sabonis right through the quarter and had Fox sit with Monk coming in. This is what I expected....Sabonis and Monk always work wonder. And when Sabonis sit, Fox come in with McGee. He might go small and go with Trey Lyle depending on match up. But I think with Duarte as a starter...I anticipate more lethal combination with Sabonis/Monk and Sabonis/Duarte. Mitchell is shooting well...hopefully he keeps that up....I still expect him to come in for Fox. So it's probably Mitchell, Monk and Sabonis with the 1st substitution....the other two may be Lyle and Keegan (playing through 1st quarter depend if he play well) or Huerte in for Keegan.

Should also be noted that there was one less camera on the baseline there than there is in the regular season because the Warriors' expanded preseason roster was sitting on the floor where the cameraman would be.
