[Game] (Preseason) Kings @ Warriors 7:00pm Pacific, 10:00pm Eastern 10/18/2023 (NBATV)

Didn’t watch the game but sounds like it was a solid one minus the announcers. Could care less about GS winning this game, let’s see what’s what when it matters. Lots of positives to take from this one, but I do think Huerter has more questions to answer this season than some of us anticipated. Can he man the 2 spot if he isn’t shooting well? Will his defense continue to be an issue? I don’t think he holds on to the starting role myself, regardless of his offensive proficiency, as he has too many holes on the other side of the ball. We need a Doug Christie type alongside Fox. A do it all guard with solid to good defense.

The West will be tough this year. Can’t afford to lose some of the easy ones like we did last year. Definitely can’t afford to start 0-4 in the regular season again either.
To me it seems that Huerter has had the yips since he bombed at the Three Point Shooting Contest last season. Many of us were shocked that he didn't perform better (which had a lot to do with the way he shoots not being conducive to the nature of that contest), and I don't recall a lot of success streaks after that.

Maybe. He was struggling a bit before that if i recall. Dude just needs to work work work, he can bounce back - i like the fact that he doesn’t just shoot 3’s for us, that certainly helps.

He tries hard, it really isn’t a question about effort, but I’m questioning the fit in a starting role. Granted, he opens things up for us just by being there on the court, but teams see him as a weak point on defense and they absolutely abuse him there. He also has a tendency to bite on fakes easily and fouls a lot when opposing players drive to the hoop. Perhaps he starts the games but plays less in crucial moments and by some of the comments Brown is making, I think Kevin has some legit competition for that spot.
