Slawson comes in and at least now it seems like the Kings have some degree of foot speed now.
We need him shooting more of that mid range shot, if you ask me. That Brad Miller top of the key, free throw line jumper should be money. We maybe beat the warriors had that thing fallen more.Domas taking that 3 in rhythm. Almost hit it, but just love the fact he's pulling that.
As long as we hit our stride by the end of the preseason I'm good, but not getting all the warm and fuzzy vibes from last year right now. I think to some degree, we were really locked in last year in camp as we had a big time mission to get to the playoffs. I feel like to some extent the guys feel like they can do it and are probably taking these pre-season games a little bit lighter than last year. All we can do is wait to see if we really can just turn it on when it starts for real. This is a great reminder. These rotations are nothing like what Mike Brown would do, so there’s no reason to hit any panic buttons. We had plenty of slow starts in games this past season, and Mike Brown would typically remedy that with a pretty smart substitution - you aren’t gonna see a lot of those strategies and adjustments made this early.
We’re gonna kill teams when the dust settles. Buckle up!!Domas worked on cleaning his handle, or his hand feels significantly better. Looks real crisp when he's bringing the ball up.
Oh no. We suck again gif
I forgot we don’t have Keegan tonight. I think he’s going to be so similar to Kevin Martin in the sense that he will adjust and get better each season, learning to draw fouls however he can. Keegan is such a smart, hard working and coachable kid + the way Mike Brown is raving about him - he must have really been kicking butt in training camp as well. Also another thing to keep watching are the free throws. So far this looks like a team still entirely dependent on Fox, Barnes, and Domas to draw any contact. Wish Keegan was playing because he could be the answer there if they are indeed going to give him more on ball time this season.
Certain combos do for sure so far, haha. The real question is what teams that kind of did suck last year won't this year. Last deadline, the West got a facelift.
My guess is that he already knows Lyles works at the C, but this is the time to discover what else you have. No need for Lyles to do too much right now.I am mortified that Brown is still deciding to play bigger and smaller than try Lyles at C. smh.
You’re probably right about that and if that’s the case, i hope Mike Brown calls them out on that early before we have some 0-4 start that tumbles into something that doesn’t resemble last season. But, then again, a lot of PTSD has followed Kings fans around for ages now, so anything that doesn’t resemble last seasons Cinderella story may feel more doom and gloom than it is. Two things can be true, i hope.As long as we hit our stride by the end of the preseason I'm good, but not getting all the warm and fuzzy vibes from last year right now. Absolutely. I will hold judgement, but if this is what we look like in game one, I will be a bit nervous. It is really annoying to hear people talk about how healthy we were last year, etc. but there is a little bit of truth to the "everything seemed to go right" nature of the season. It's never going to feel like last year again, so anything less than what feels like a step forward is going to be a frustrating year. You’re probably right about that and if that’s the case, i hope Mike Brown calls them out on that early before we have some 0-4 start that tumbles into something that doesn’t resemble last season. Oh yes! Having Keegan back changes everything. This could be a generational shooter we’re talking about here + let’s not forget, Fox ain’t going at full tilt right now and not even a little bit. If he needs to preserve himself a bit to avoid any annoying injuries, I’m all for it in preseason. I’d rather they crap the bed now, learning some of these new sets and new faces. It's early but yes, it might be time for Brown to start refining that rotation a bit haha. Len honestly still looks like the better backup C to me if Brown is going big like this. This team is what it is, a skill team, the more skill the better. I do like that little wrinkle they've added to the DHO running a lightening fast pnr second option out of it when a team comes up to pressure. Once Huerter comes back to life that can be a nice weapon. For Keegan as well.

Yeah i have no real interest in the preseason games at this point. I want our guys healthy and to make sure the chemistry and spark is there, but that’s it for me.After this one, I may just wait for the regular season to start in two weeks. It was tough to watch, even if the Kings did rally a couple of times.
That fight was preseason?? I’d totally forgotten that. Best preseason game ever!!Forgot to watch this.
I realized I’ve probably watched a full seasons worth of preseason games in my years of Kings fandom and I literally can only remember one. The Doug Christie/Rick Fox fight game.
don’t fill up on bread and certainly don’t take too much(or any) stock in what you see in preseason. Good, bad, and ugly. It’s forgettable and irrelevant. Just get in shape.
I will do the same. Between summer league and preseason, the amount of focus on meaningless NBA games are at an all time high. It’s easy to overreact one way or the other when the reality is we really don’t know until they get into a normal rotation and intensity staring game 1. Of course I’d rather have them winning these and looking great than not, but outside of getting a peak at Sasha and seeing if Keegan really does look like he has taken a year two leap, these games aren’t fun. After this one, I may just wait for the regular season to start in two weeks.
