Been a constant supporter of Jimmer. He was the guy I wanted us to draft and I've always felt like he will be a good player in this league. I'm thrilled at his start this preseason as I was scared the Kings we're gonna give him away for a second round pick or something just to free up a roster spot with the logjam at guard. That said if the team does want to go the route of clearing room in the backcourt then Jimmer's trade value is definitely higher right now than it was before the preseason began. Thornton is the guy who I'd like to see moved but just can't see us getting much in return for a player of his talent level with his contract. Jimmer on the other hand can do everything Thornton can (imo at least) AND pass the ball much better.... plus his contract is like $6mil less a year and theoretically he comes with a lot more upside.
I'm hoping we keep him and move forward with him and McLemore at the 2 but if we do end up trading him at least at this point in time I think we'd get something decent in return.
