Predict the WC & EC Standings

That's not what I meant. You assumed I was feeling like that. You also assumed I have "hopes", what I've talked about with the Kings isn't hopes.

What I actually meant was you simply don't need to tell me all those kinda things anymore in post #52. I have a good memory, and know you've told me stuff like that multiple times in this thread and in recent threads regarding Kings playoff/outlook talk.

Okay?

The Kings being at the 5th seed is being hopeful, i'm not sure what makes you think a new coach can all of a sudden have his squad at the top of the middle seed when, he still has to see how the team feels about what he wants to do.

we agree to disagree and whatever we say or try to explain won't change it.

It's possible but the chances are not that high. Avery coached the Mavericks during Don Nelson's time aswell so he knew what to do. and Mike D'Toni had a squad that was ready to run his style considering Steve Nash was the one who best fits the system.

Eric Musselman is in a different situation.

eric musselman also helped lead the grizzlies to their seedings in the past few playoffs, with what i feel are less talented rosters than the kings of the same years. this whole season is going to be a crapshoot.

if he happens to coax the most out of this team in an open style of play, and nash and cassell break down because of age, is it possible for the kings to go 3rd seed? i think that actually may be realistic.

Agree to disagree? Not here. These are simple reminders, chap.

1. You don't read do you? At least not on this one. Quit putting the 5th seed as what I think the Kings will be. I've explained multiple times why I put the Kings at the 5 spot on my standings list. That's not how I generally feel about the Kings playoffs.

2. It is being hopeful to you, not me. What I have said about the upcoming season for the Kings are my views. Accept that others have different one(s) than you.

but again, it's how you feel. like you said, it can take a team some time to get rolling with a new coach. or they may roll right away. because no one knows what musselman will bring to the table, i don't feel like any one scenario is more "realistic."

i find myself commenting more and more to the posts that tell me how i should feel/view/think about the team.

I'm not trying to tell people to think different like me like i said in the previous post i'm not trying to discourage people from what they believe in. but the forum is part of the arguement world and its always gonna be a agree to disagree debate.

I'm trying to explain whats realistic with the Kings right now, if i knew the Kings were good enough to get the 5th seed then i would say it.. but considering some people forget the fact that we have a new coach and it can take time for this team to get rolling.

Okay, I'm going to try to explain once more.

REALISTIC is a relative term. What's realistic to you might not be realistic to someone else. It's all a matter of perception. You're acting as though your opinion is more valid than someone elses when you make comments like the part I've bolded above.

You started this thread to get input from other members of the forum about what THEIR predictions are for the standings. You already gave yours.

It's not a matter of a question like what color is that car, where there's only one real answer (unless you're color blind, or the light is wrong, etc.)... This is a purely subjective question.

And you saying you'll agree to disagree is just silly. You have one opinion. Why you have to keep arguing with anyone and everyone who says something different is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Again, you ASKED for other people to predict what THEY THINK the standings will be. Why not let them do it?

I respect you're view so lets just leave it at that ;)

I agree, that not alot of people will find my realistic view as valid but this is why we have a fourm in the first place we argue even though we know it will be a debate and no one will agree :)

haha, i can completely seeing that being a thread in the lounge forum. :p that's just cruel.

We should have more people giving there predictions i'm getting tired of the arguing so please if you have any predictions on the standing post them :D

Maybe if you wouldn't argue with everyone, more people would post their predictions.

:)

I could make good arguments why the following teams might have better records this year than last in the West:

Denver (get Nene back, JR smith to plug OG hole)
Utah (Fisher to steady PG, Boozer back and healthy)
Minnesota (added Mike James and Randy Foye)
Portland (added Jamaal Magliore, Lamarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roye)
Seattle (closed season over .500 after the All-Star break, sat on hands during summer)
Phoenix (get back Amare, also added Marcus Banks)
Clippers (get back a healthy Maggette)
Lakers (added Radmanovic)
Golden State (added Don Nelson)
New Orleans (added Peja + Chandler)
Houston (get TMac back, Yao was huge down stretch, add Battier)

and then teams that are about even, or have questions whetehr it was good or bad:
San Antonio -- swapped around questionable centers
Dallas -- sat on hands
Memphis -- lost Wright + Battier, added Gay and Swift, Gay will detrmine how that works out, + Gasol injury
Sacto -- closed season on a rush, then lost 700 win coach and best player in playoffs

NOBODY got clearly and obviously worse. And so....that likely does not work. Somebody has to lose out despite the general improvements.

Outside of Portland, who has better talent but little chance with all that youth, I could see every other team in the West winning high thirties or more games and being in the hunt. Who slips in and who slips out might well be determined by injuries.

So you think losing Rick Adelman is gonna hurt this ball-club? understandable we know why Bonzi left but i hope you have some sort of faith on Eric Musselman getting the job done.

I think Rick Adelman has coached nine 50 game winners, made the playoffs 14 of 16 seasons (!!), been to the Conference Finals 4 times, and the Finals twice.

Meanwhile I think Eric Musselman has never had a 40 win season.

Therefore I think that if your goals are to make the playoffs once more and maybe win 50 games, Muss has a helluva lot to prove to even get within jock sniffing range of Rick Adelman.

I agree, hes not at Rick's level yet however i'll expect us to play better defense under Eric's guide then we ever had with Rick.

I'd point out again that Rick was coaching the Kings when they were one of the top defensive teams in the league, but, eh... I'll let Brick do it.

OK, we all know that I get most of my info from this site, so this is really just for fun:

1. DAL
2. SAN
3. PHO
4. LAC
5. Kings
6. Hornets
7. Nugs
8. LAL

The East coast I really do not follow, this is just....whatever.

1. Miami
2. Chicago
3. Cavs
4. Pistons
5. Nets
6. Pacers
7. Wizards
8. Magic

I put the Kings a little high, so what!!! They could get 4th if all goes our way and against all others.
