Portland has PG's...

Fresno King

Starter
I noticed the Trailblazers have a few PG's on their roster (Telfair, Jack, Blake). All of them are young. How does this sound:

Jason Hart
Kenny Thomas
2007 #1 pick

FOR:

Sebastian Telfair
Brian Skinner

Telfair would be the perfect guy to learn from Mike Bibby, and he's a younger version of B-Jax: high energy and a scorer. We could definiely use Skinner to play in Musselman's defense first philosophy. Portland is going to lose Pryzbilla to free agency, and may trade Darius Miles, opening the door for Thomas to start alongside Zach Randolph in their frontcourt. Hart could add veteran leadership to a young crop of guards with the Blazers. I don't like trading a future #1, but sometimes you have to sacrifice the future for the present.

KINGS:
PG-Mike Bibby, Sebastian Telfair, Ronnie Price (13th man)
SG-Bonzi Wells, Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia
SF-Ron Artest, Sergei Monia
PF-Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Brian Skinner (F/C), Corliss Williamson
C-Brad Miller, Vitaly Potapenko

"So whoever got to be traded, whether it's me, Jack or Blake, I don't think it's fair. I don't think we fit sitting on the bench.''

-Sebastian Telfair

Still need another big, Miller/Potapenko is meh.

I'd probably do that, and like Telfair. No doubt will be working on his game.

Telfair is so good that maybe Portland will not trade him, unfortunately.
I think he's the future of the Blazers, if any.

Skinner can play PF and C. Potapenko can keep that bench warm.

I still don't like the overall bigs. I think you need two defensive big men who are effective without the ball. Getting Francisco Elson for some of the MLE would be realistic and good. Athletic, has a solid legit jumper, rebounder, blocker, brings energy. Also brings a bunch of compliments.

I agree. And I don't see Petrie bringing Skinner back. As thin as our big man ranks were, he traded him once. I have to take that to mean he didn't feel he was right for the team.

I liked Brian Skinner. I will NEVER forget that block on Shawn Marion's dunk attempt. But he's not the answer to any of our problems IMHO.

I like the idea, but not how it shakes out. Here's my alternative:

Kenny Thomas for Jarret Jack.

We can throw in a pick, I guess.

I think that trade was motivated mainly from the bottom line. It allowed the Kings to get under the tax threshold and net a few million in exchange. At the time, Skinner wasn't being used but I wouldn't translate that into he wasn't right for the team then or now. With a new coach at the helm, who knows how he would fit in going forward.

Should be interesting.

You can argue they never intended on keeping Skinner.

Telfair isn't going anywhere. But Jarret Jack would work for me.

Corliss/Kenny/Hart for Ratliff/Jack.

I'd do that... Ratliff would be solid as back-up center. Would need to get a new PF though, Ely or sign Elson (can play C too). Both athletic and have some offense.

Can't post it here because it's from RealGM and there's no original link... but the Blazers are willing to trade their 4/30/31 draft picks for players.
