We can trade Peja for Peja?

Wouldnt mind? Crap, I would do that in a heartbeat.

I said it that way to avoid upsetting the Peja-worshipers. I have seen Ginobili drove pass several Detroit defenders and then dunked over Ben Wallace. That is how he helped the Spurs beat the Pistons in last year's final. He definitely has more game than Peja.

I figured thats what you meant. I was just being a smarty pants :)

look- the solution to the kings problems would not be resolved soley by trading peja. I know everyone is jumping on the bandwagon but truth is despite his sluggish start he at least contributed . where is the trade bibby thread? ok, so now there is a trade bibby thread (not surprising) whats next, a trade the team thread? c'mon guys.. im sure a little more creativity could produce more efficient ways to make changes. I just don't think its fair that everybody is peja bashing and so quick to pull the trigger on him.

I'd take any of these guys for Peja any-time, I'm not a Peja-hater though:

Marcus Camby
Bobby Simmons
Richard Hamilton
Samuel Dalembert
Emanuel Ginobili
Corey Maggette

I took some players I'd like on the team in general, out because they wouldn't fill the SF hole or be benched.

You're telling me you would trade Peja for Al Harrington?

Peja for Lorenzen Wright?

c'mon now.

I still wish we had been able to make some kind of deal involving Peja and Artest. Artest would give us that defensive guy we need for once.

Too bad, we missed that window of opportunity last year. It is not going to happen now.

We need a lock-down defender that we can put on the Mcgrady's, the Kobe's, or the Jon Barry's.

Petrie, Petrie, Petrie.

Best in the business in receiving more talent than giving...

Worst in the business at adressing team's needs.

Thing is, I think we need more than just that. We need a LEADER. Even a great defender would only be able to have so much impact stopping his own man and helping when he could. What we really need is somebody like a young Zo Mourning (spiritwise), who will not only play the defense but exhort his teammates to do the same. Get in Brad's ear and tell him "come on hoss, help me shut down this lane -- let's lay some people out", tell Mike which way to let his man on by etc. :p We need a defensive leader as much as just a defensive stud.

Defense simply does not come naturally to any of our main players outside of maybe Bonzi. If they are going to be good enough on that side of the ball, they really need somebody driving them to it, urging them on. And that's even rarer than a lockdown guy. I'm not even sure our guys have the comeptitive fire to respond to such a leader, but it would have to be the hope.

I think the new CBA says that players' salaries can now be w/in 25%. Anyone know if this is true?

instead of paying attention in my meeting at work, i decided to see who we might trade for peja and bibby. KG would be nice. so would chris bosh, except that doesn't work out financially.

if we do trade peja and/or bibby, i hope it's for a big man at the 4. we could slide reef to the 3.

i think even Peja worshipers understand that, since Indy '02, Manu has emerged as the best nonUS basketball player in the world. I think he has the respect Drazen Petrovic had 15 years ago.

Dirk.

Likely AK-47 and Yao too.

That would be a pretty interesting mix Yao, Dirk, AK-47, Ginobili, and Nash as the All-international 1st team members. This team has the low post scorer, long range bomber, rebounder, defender, slasher, and distributor.

It would be kind of cool match All-USA 1st team against the All-international 1st team in the allstar game.
All-USA 1st team: Shaq, Tim Duncan (he has US citizenship), KG (maybe Lebron), Kobe, and Wade.

You could win a title with that team -- a milestone of sorts because I don't think you would have ever been able to say that about 5 international players before.

I was thinking the same thing, something more like:

Duncan/Yao
KG/Dirk
T-Mac/AK47
Kobe/Ginobili
LeBron/Nash

That would be a fun game to watch, 5 on 5.

The only trade I realistically see happening is Peja for Odom last year we had a chance to get Artest for Peja but I'm not sure what happened.

DP respect 15 yaers ago?...what respect?.... 2 year on bench in portland and 2 good seasons in NJ..no play-off performance....although I liked his game, unfortenatly he got respected when he died....at this moment dirk is the best int player.....AK47 is unproven (overrated too) and I'd like to see him in play-off....manu is good but playing with td makes his job much easier...and that indy guy , jascevicius (or something like that) is good shooter
