[Game] Pistons @ Kings - 11/7/12

i dont care if the second unit is playing well, u dont leave Tyreke and Isaiah out the whole quarter, they both played well, IT on Offense, and Tyreke did a little bit of everything. u dont leave them out all the way till half time like that. thats not how a winning team is coached

completely agree, young guys need roles and structure, smarts gameplan is basically ride the hot hand.

This is the smartest I've seen Cousins play. He's played with a lot of patience this first half, and he's playing good D. He has outstanding anticipation on defense.
Cousins overplayed on some doubles and Monroe got a few buckets and assists.

a lot of teams have better players then we have, and they never see the court unless theres an injury, so dont use the "too many players" as an excuse. thats how a good team is coached and Smart needs to get with it. however, i am VERY happy to see that neither Garcia or Outlaw got on the court today

You can get away with it every now and then. Problem is this happens nightly. What it does is send the message to IT and Reke going into a game that no matter how hard or well you play, I'll probably just bench through halftime and you'll never know when you're coming back in.

The problem isn't the scoreboard for this game or that game. The problem is it will effect players mindsets off the court and going into games. If people agree with Smart, they agree. I don't. Never seen it work longterm.

There's not a lot of difference between IT and Brooks, and Tyreke and Thornton in terms of overall talent. Smart isn't going to be playing two of these guys 40 minutes when the talent is so evenly dispersed

The lack of shooting from Reke and JJ is a real problem for the starters. They're getting wide open mid-range shots and they're bricking every one of them. Not only are we missing the points from the easy jumpers, but it clogs the paint for Reke and IT penetration and Cousins. It's no coincidence that our offense greatly improves when we have 2 floor spacers on the floor

4th year player and he still doesn't have a floater.

Yah.. I guess he likes turning the ball over in a crowd?

Don't know what to think of him anymore. I do believe the Kings would be a better team with either him or Johnson NOT on this team.

Because defense is apparently stupid

IT needs to stop overplaying the perimeter. Everytime he goes for and misses the steal he leaves his teammates out to dry. Just focus on staying in front of Knight.
