Horry with the clutch play!
Haha, good one!
What a series this is turning out to be. Thrilling come from behind win last night. Go Suns!
Horry with the clutch play!
finally some old school basketball. horry sent the message and amare and diaw unwisely went after it. amare has absolutely no case, he Runs around the assistant coaches to help nash after standing on the sideline with a towel around his neck. maybe if he went to college, he would have been able to understand that during an altercation you cannot go on the floor!
Nash received a head-butt and bad cut to the bridge of the nose that may have cost Phoenix a close game.
what is the message ?
"we can't outplay You but if we injure You or get You suspended - we might win the series "
or is it
"I would have been a good hockey player"
the message is that the spurs can keep thier heads in the game but the immature suns cannot. i believe that horry did that to cause a stir on the suns bench and it frikkin worked. now whether or not the spurs knew it was comming is one thing but they (aside from horry) kept thier heads on straight. what would have happened if amare got there and began shoving people and a spurs fan threw a cup of beer at him... he should be suspended and the spurs "win" game 4
just stay on the bench
LinkHowever, if the league decides to suspend Diaw and Stoudemire, it may have to suspend Tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen as well.
In a play that went entirely unnoticed until well after the game was over, both Duncan and Bowen actually left San Antonio's bench early in the second quarter after Francisco Elson and James Jones were entangled. Replays clearly show Duncan walking several steps onto the court as Elson and Jones appeared to be ready to get into it. Bowen then followed Duncan onto the floor, grabbed him and led him back to the bench. If the league does indeed follow the letter of the law, both Spurs players would also be suspended for Game 5.
Ok, I came up with the best solution of suspending Diaw and Stoudamine without handicapping the Suns in the series.
How about giving them the suspensions NEXT SEASON?
This way, they won't jeopardize the Suns in the playoffs with such a small problem while still enforce the law.
BA is in a tough spot though -- this is their showcase series, maybe even the defacto championship. And those were major players. And yet as soon as the NBA lets those considerations factor in, then come the cries of favoritism and unequal justice.
Horry and the spurs IMO get some lee-way about how they play defense. Sad to say but that's how it is in the NBA, once you establish a "defensive" image, the refs tend to give a little more lee-way about how you play defense.
That body check by Horry was downright dirty. and I believe bowen plays "dirty" too. I mean just ask Vince Carter's ankles.
If Amare +/- Diaw gets suspended, then this series becomes tainted and possibly over for the suns. I know the rule is probably black and white, but if a player steps on the court (i.e. leaves the bench) but does not engage anyone how is that equal to someone who instigates the whole thing....especially when the game is over? Horry should get suspended (more than 1 game even) how about rest of the series?
Spurs...boo.
I totally agree with you. Horry is the one who started it and he gets 2 games and Diaw and Stoudemire get 1 for coming off the bench???
Also, earlier in the game when Elson and someone on the Suns got into it Duncan pretty much walked about 5 feet on the court until Bowen pulled him back so why doesn't he get suspended??

Because he's the Golden Boy Tim Duncan.
We all know he would never do anything wrong.
...I've said this 1000 time before, and I'll say it again.
I HATE the Spurs.
Like Laker hate...It's that bad.
read my above post.
Not favoritism. Its the rule.
This is "unfair" only to the degree the underlying rule itself is "unfair".
Of course given that the Suns absolutely could have avoided any problems just by using their noggins is getting lost here.

While it's true the Suns could have avoided the whole thing by not losing their heads when Nash was sent sprawling into the scorer's table, I think the bigger picture is that the Suns have been getting thoroughly jobbed during this series. At the point where Nash was on the floor from a really dirty cheap shot, I think almost every player in the league would have responded the same way. Enough is enough... isn't it?
Half a dozen other Suns didn't. And no, some guys use their heads. Then some guys enter the league at age 18 or whatever and can't even spell head. Just unfortunate the Suns had a couple of those waiting to react. Everone would react to that play, but then you did the big stupid and start marching out on the court toward the fracas...you just can't, and everyone knows you can't. You actually owe it to your team to not.
