Petrie has mental issues, tried to sabotage the Cavs?

Bottlenecks due to sequential task performance ...I think that's the explanation in management dialogue. Basically, we had opportunties that we sought out and tried to get done ...in some of those instances we came in a close second, in others we wrere sabotaged by another GM, who I actually believe tried at the lst second to sabotage what we had going with Chicago and Seattle ...why, ? Don't know other than to say I think he's got mental issues ... (hint: Sacramento)

But, why we didn't get pieces that would have been easy to fill earlier had me mystified as well ...I thought it would have been relatively simple to improve our point guard situation much earlier ..even last season ....but, for whatever reasons they decided to be patient and wait it out for the right time and place, and ultimately, I think by keeping their options open and using greater patience than I could have sustained, they found the best alternative longterm with this last move.

But, this poast offseason we basically were on hold waiting to have the Sasha and AVsituations play out before moving onto the next items on the aagenda list. Last year, I think we thought we had the Bibby deal ready and waiting to happen, but, we were dealing with a guy that kept changing the parameters every day ..with each game, he had another thought process ...and Ferry became utterly frustrated and confused by the negotiation. Ultimately, they got the worst deal they could have gotten because of the GM's ineptitude ... I think he was bitter that we wouldn't open into new negotiations with him this season, or at least serious talks, and tried to play some dirty games late in the process with the trade we had put together ...

Sounds like a well thought out story by a Cavs fan who is trying to deny their own front office ineptitude. Ferry probably tried to fleece Geoff so maybe Geoff played some mindgames with him at that time. Outside of that situation, I don't know why Petrie would sabotage any other trades, unless Seattle or Chicago was giving up a piece he really really wanted.

Probably Joe Smith. Geoff has a thing for overpaid old power forwards who don't do much.

1st I'd much rather have Shelden over Gooden and the crap Cleveland was offering. Atleast Shelden has a chance to be good and we get some salary relief. Cleveland wanted to deal us a bunch of rejects and Gooden.

Petrie messing with Ferry's mind is hilarious and awesome.

It's a lot of noise, mostly white noise, like when a hen oodles – wow, lays an egg – and it makes a sound like it made a meteor.

Or is it?

If Cav employees spell that poorly, I can see why things went south. In all seriousness, it sounds like sour grapes.

Clearly --Petrie is insane. That explains so much. ;)

There may be a kernel of truth that got that whole rant started -- because of his failure to commit to a rebuild I could see Geoff being unsure of how he wanted to proceed with Bibby last year and changing his mind/shifting his feet/demands when the Cavs were trying to get him. Throw in possible Maloof shifting winds and the generally unattractive Cavs trade pieces and I could see that. In the last couple of years any remote sign of something positive, no matter how isolated and irrelevant, seems to have been seized upon by Geoff as an excuse to do nothing. So he might have been hard to pin down on the Bibby front. Every 3 game win streak could be enough to make him hesitate and back off. So I hold that part open as possible.

But the rest of this guy's post is pretty laughable, even if he is who/what he claims to be. Yes Geoff is well known as an insane power hungry vindictive S.O.B. You know that's always the ebst way to convince other GMs to deal with you. And how exactly does one go about sabotaging another team's deal anyway? All I can think of is by suggesting your own deal for one of the players involved. And gee -- I mean obviously Geoff would only do such a thing to "get" the Cavs. Couldn't have anything to do with efforts on behalf of his own team. Nope. All a conspiracy to "get" the Cavs.

Yep. Cavs fan/person unhappy with their situation needs a scapegoat. To bad it may try to be one of the nicest guys in the league, respected by everyone.

I can read GP's game plan from a mile away:

Play mind games and screw around with the Cavs front office; leave them confused and discombobulated so nothing worthwhile changes with the Cavs; this leaves King James completely frustrated with years of being the lone man on the cavs and he begins to demand a move out of Cleveland; just then, we have a ton of free cap space and GP sweeps in to bring the King to the Kings.

It all fits together so perfectly.

GP is a genius.

So basically it's really been Petrie who's been the true mind bender the whole time and NOT Phil Jackson? Whoa. He is scary bad good.

:p

It could be that - or it may just be the case that people in Ohio do not understand references to chickens, the moon or oodling.

The Cavs have themselves to blame. If they had been willing to put AV in the deal last year I'm sure they could have had Bibby.

They tried to buy government cheese and Mike Bibby is Tilamook baybee!!!

Oh please, now everyone works for a front office and has sources. I cant think of one reason Geoff would try to sabotage a deal with cleveland and Seattle after he already traded bibby away. If this guy on the cavs forum wants to make something up then he should at least be a tad better at it.

Cleveland offered us Daniel Gibson. I'd take him and Gooden over the garbage players we got anyday.

Awesome.

Gibson feeds off Lebron we don't know how good he'd be on the kings.

Seems to me he's done pretty well without Lebron.
Sophomore Streak at Six and Counting

It is said that trouble comes in threes. Sophomore sharpshooter Daniel Gibson showed the Rookies just what that means. Gibson, the combo guard of the Cleveland Cavaliers, drained a record 11 3-pointers in 20 attempts and scored 33 points as the Sophomores again defeated the Rookies, 136-109, for their sixth straight victory in the 2008 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam at New Orleans Arena on Friday night.

Gibson shattered Kyle Korver's Rookie Challenge record of seven 3-pointers set in 2005. He fell three points shy of Amare Stoudemire's 2004 mark for points in the annual showcase and took home MVP honors, joining Zydrunas Ilgauskas (1998) - not LeBron James - as the only Cavaliers to win the award.

Kings need another shoot first PG about as much as the Hawks need another forward.

I, too, want a pass-first PG, I think we need one badly. But, since Geoff doesn't seem to be very interested in those, I wouldn't rule out someone like Gibson. At least he has shown that he can pass the ball. Instead, we have Douby, who gets about as many assists as Yinka Dare.

If it really is someone from the inside, it shows Petrie is a cold calculating son of a. Got Shelden instead of Gooden. If it's a pissed off Cavs fan, ...

If it's really someone from the inside? You're kidding, right? If it is, I commend the Cavaliers for their hiring practice.

;)
