On Beno: Has been impressed with him while trying to guard him - has a lot of skill. Would like to talk with him about his performance and feels he can produce - has seen him play really well and would like him to get to that point again.
On Kevin: Kevin is one of the most complete offensive players in the league and hampered by injury. If Kevin is healthy he can put 20-25 points on anyone and is a creative and efficient scorer.
On being called an offensive genius: appreciates the kind words, takes it with a grain of salt. Scoring by itself doesn't win games, needs good D and rebounds. Good O is entertaining for the fans and he likes to get up and down. Doesn't like 71-72 scores in the 4th q.
First, thanks for posting this .. I live a million miles away and dont get to hear these local interviews.
anyways, was wondering about the beno comments .. not sure if it was a typo or what but, what does 'has been impressed with him while trying to guard him ' is our olddd coach playing D on Beno?
I'm guessing he is talking about when he was an assistant for dallas a couple years ago. He's talking about game-planning for the kings and beno.
Probably was just trying to put a positive spin on the situation with beno. We all know he sucks, but you can't come out and say that as the new head coach.
I don't think that's entirely true. We've seen that Udrih can be a contributing player. If Westphal can bring out the best in him, I'm all for it.
He is a solid player but not a starter on a good team. Thats why the best we can hope for is for coach Westphal to get Beno's confidence and production up and then Petrie to trade him to a team in a need of a PG.I don't think that's entirely true. link? It's up on KHTK.com as well if people want to have a listen.

Dallas plays San Antonio a lot. He had to game plan for Beno, and saw first hand how hard he could be to defend...Only problem is Beno played for San Antonio not Dallas.

I was exagerating a little bit. I'm just really dissapointed in how beno played last year. Statistics are one thing, but I didn't see enough effort from him on a regular basis. Thats what bothers me. I think he can contribute, potentially give us 10pts/5ast a game off the bench. I would love it if he could do that, but don't want him starting at pg next year.

He's supposed to be a run n gun offensive type of coach isnt he?
I wonder if this will affect our draft? Jennings?
