Padrino said:and the Pacers turned down a deal with the Clippers for Corey Maggette because Maggette's foot injury may be more severe than expected and backed out.
I will never love or respect this person. If he does helps my team and doesn't do any damage, I'll be okay with him as a player on the team. That's it.piksi said:we may (not me but majority here) learn to tolerate Artest. He is never going to be loved
DocHolliday said:I'll love him. I'll stand by him good and bad. I'm willing to take the risk. That should tell you how much I think Peja needs to be gone. I'd rather have a rookie *Francisco Garcia* playing on the team than Peja at this point. The Kings are a better team without him on the floor.

Warhawk said:Right now we are on the hook for a few months of Peja's pay and we are trying to tie ourselves to the Artest Anchor for 2.5???? Talk about fiscal mismanagement!
chelle said:My personal opinion:
I think that the Maloofs are talking to the media too much. Over teh summer, it was with Adleman / Jackson. Today they went on ESPN to talk about the trade (without talking about the trade), and tonight STILL talking about the trade - saying it isn't dead yet.
Most GM's get aggravated at owners who start doing this on a regular basis. I do not Know if Petrie is one to get get annoyed, but if he does we may not only be looking for new players and a new coach, but a new Gm as well.
Again, just my opinion - no sources to quote![]()

Entity said:money is not the object simply put Artest is a good player and Peja sucks

love_them_kings said:I just don't get it. I'm not a big Peja fan, haven't been since he requested the trade. And I know he is not helping the Kings right now. But he is hardly a destructive force. Peja may not be our knight in shining armor, but Artest could very well be the dragon that destroys us.
Warhawk said:Sorry, I don't think you're being honest with that statement.
Then get rid of Peja for some draft picks or Maggette or Pierce or anyone else. Special is a cancer - he doesn't belong in a Kings' uniform. The only reason to support THIS trade is if you want Special in a Kings uniform.
Warhawk said:Good Lord, have any of you even seen what he has done to Indiana over the past 2 years?!?!?!?! Does nobody see what is going to happen here if he comes? Is today not a prime example?

DocHolliday said:No the reason is because he is the best talent out there that we can get for Peja. Better than Peja in fact when he's not acting crazy, and the salaries match in a trade. And, if doesn' work out, there will be someone that takes him. If the clips or Lakers will take him now, they'll take him later.

Bricklayer said:The future is nowhere near that clear-cut. A significant risk, yes. But again, what is this amazing thing that we have to lose? Artest is far too wacky to be all upside, but the upside is bigger than the downside when you are already a lottery team stacked with middleaged vets. Either you find some magic elixir to revive this team NOW, or you have to pretty much tear it down and completely rebuild. Artest is either a magic elixir, or he's not. But absolute worst case scenario right now his antics end up bumping us up a few spots to get a BETTER draft pick.
And when all is said and done, betcha anything he is still tradeable to the Knicks if nobody else. Not for anything special perhaps, but he does not have to wear the purple (or the gold) past this summer if he just has to go.
