Overpaid? I think not.

The Kings should be getting a 50% discount on Bibby's salary because he only plays on one side of the floor.

Agreed but then the question is... Has he ever really played D? So they knew that when they decided to pay him his current contract. Bibby is a horrible defender, has been, and always will be.

unless NBA gets rid of defense all together

Seems like they are trying to. NBA of the 80s and 90s was much better than now. Atleast you could value a great defender back then. Think how good MJ would be nowadays.

Does Smush get that lay up if Corliss is 6'11 instead of 6'6''? I mean yeah it was a defensive lapse by Mike, but without Mike we aren't in position to win the game during regulation OR OT.

I thought I was the only one that was watching but it looks like someone else did too^. The ball was inbounded to Kobe at the 3 point line, Mike went to double(which he was obviously told to do) Kobe passed out of the double to Smush(which we also wanted him to do) Corliss rotated to Smush and Smush proceeded to go right through and over Corliss to score the bucket. It's not like Smush had a free lane right to the basket with no one on him, he was picked up at the top of the circle almost by Corliss. If you wanna take someones half of a paycheck away for that play it wouldn't be Mikes.

You are aware of how many pointsd teams used to score back in those days right? Once upon a time 100ppg made you just about the worst scoring team in the league. Wasn;t until the Bad Boys and then Riley's thugs in NY that things really began to change/slowdown in the mid-90's.

Thank you! Had any of you thought that Muss TOLD him to do that. The announcers were talking about doubling Kobe during the 2nd half of the game, and that is what they were trying to do. Sometimes a player( a really great player in Kobe) just makes a good pass before the double comes over.

Also there was one play where Farmar was on a fast break alone and Bibby was right in front of him, Farmar of all people just gave a shoulder shake and bibby was nowhere to be seen after that in the frame. The play ended up with salmons stripping the ball from farmar with a lakers turnover (which should have been a foul, but refs were not in that mood anyways ). But if bibby could play defense he should have stayed with farmar or atleast fouled him at the mid court rather than get it to the paint and allowing a possible layup or a three point play.

(Any other day thats what it would have lead to )

My thought exactly. It's not as if Bibby quit defending after he got his big contract...he was never much of a defender. So, I guess if he shows some effort on defense he's probably entitled to a raise...

I think if we won the game bibby would be the hero...but still, coming out of his slump and getting his shooting touch back like last night..duh...no major reason at all to feel bad about the guy. I mean, he is still Clutch, imho. Welcome back Mikey!

Trade mike bibby my arse*

he's the best player on this team. and i dont wana see him go. we need a big man
