Our roster

Homer Fan Since 1985
I am up ridiculously late and was bored. That's what happens when you sleep anytime of the day or night.

Anyway, I noticed that Hoston is still not listed on our roster. Anyone hear anything about that?

Also, Lijie and FeiFei are listed, yet Coach Ambers said they would not be here this year. They will stay in China to prepare for the WC's. Do we have to keep them listed at this point if they plan to return next year?

She's listed as #5 Scholanda Dorrell, her maiden name.

15 days!!:)

Well, duh!!!! :o

Thanks for pointing that out. I will blame my illness for missing that. Yeah, that's the ticket. :D

I'm pretty sure she'll make the final cut since she was drafted in the first round. We're not in a position to be jettisonning one of our double bonus picks when we do have roster holes. Hoston's a keeper. I don't really care what name she uses as long as she fits into the system and performs.

FeiFei and Miao are probably still listed because we still hold their rights. I'm guessing some paperwork will be submitted to the league office to change their status to "suspended" once Whiz has to pare down his roster to 11 plus the 2 IR slots.

Oh, I think Hoston is a keeper alright. I see her as the back-up 2 guard to Kara...at the very least. I really am hoping she will fill Chelsea's role.

I am thinking that if they are already using her maiden name on the roster, then maybe she has chosen that as her professional name.

Today's (Wednesday, April 26) issue in the Sacramento Bee pretty much explains the name confusion:

NAME GAME

After the Monarchs took Scholanda Hoston with their second pick of the WNBA draft (14th overall), things got a little confusing when Scholanda Dorrell showed up.

Dorrell, who has been married since 2002, never legally changed her name, so when the Monarchs booked her tickets with the Hoston name, she had some problems traveling.

"It was crazy," Dorrell said. "(Airline officials) weren't going to let me on the plane."

She'll continue to use Dorrell.
