We are currently 13-15, we have 18 games through the end of January starting tonight against the lakers who are on the 2nd game of a back to back. what do you think our record will be going into February? It's going to be a tough month, we have 9 road games and 9 home games. with a 6 game road trip in the middle of January that doesnt look too pretty. I think we'll end up going 8-10 but thats me being optimistic. more like 6-12, we play the warriors, sixers and bobcats twice... if we can split one with the lakers and magic we would have a shot at going 9-9 in that time span. we play the lakers, magic and nuggets twice, the mavs a re playing well right now.

kings play...

Lakers-L, this is our best chance at a win against them.
nuggets-L, we can beat them but i dont think that we will.
sixers-W, we can beat them and we should beat them.
@lakers-L, their schedule isn't so easy they are going to need this game.
mavs-W, mavs play LAL the next day, wont be thinking about the kings.
suns-L, frye will probably make 5 threes against hawes.
@warriors-W, we should beat them, period.
nuggets-L, again, we can beat them but dont think we will.
magic-L, howard will foul out hawes and thopson.
@sixers-W, we should beat them, we have a better team.
@wizards-W, could just as easily be a loss but i think they will be ready.
@bobcats-W, we should beat them....
@hawks-L, the hawks are playing well, they'll have a easy schedule.
@magic-L, i just dont see us beating them.
@heat-L, we could win the game but 2nd game of b2b, not gonna happen.
warriors-W, duh... we should beat them.
@jazz-L, we can beat them, as long as everyone plays well.
bobcats-W, we should beat them, period.

we could be 21-25 by February 1st, with Martin back and a little over 2 weeks before the trade deadline. A push for the playoffs wouldnt be that big of a stretch if you look at the schedules for the teams ahead of us, OKC, MEM and NOH... UTH (16-13) has the 8th spot right now but they could all be behind us or with the same record as ours by the end of this month.

when i look at the schedule, i think that we could win more than 8 or 9 games but we could just as easily lose 12. the crazy part about it is that we only play 4 teams that are under .500. Warriors(twice), bobcats(twice), wizards(2nd game, won 1st), sixers (twice). if those are the only games that we win i wouldnt be surprised but we could catch a few teams off guard.

Did you take into account the fact that every single weekend of January has a back-to-back for the Kings, which means an incredible amount of frequent flier miles in what could easily be some of the worst weather of the new year?

Impossible to tell what our record will be at that point. Biggest issue of course is Kevin coming back. While I am one of the few who really wants Kevin back, it will take time to work him in. My guess is he comes off the bench for about 3 games, and then gets back in the starting lineup. I think Kevin will help, but it will take time before everything runs smoothly.

In addition to Kevins return, we have a number of back 2 backs as VF pointed out, and that monster of an east coast road trip, which is exactly when I think Kevin will re-enter the starting lineup. This will be a tough month, but this team seems to surprise us on a regular basis.

If I was a betting man, I would say January will have a lot of ups and downs, and February will be a more successul month for us. I think this team will learn a lot in January, especially on that 6 game east coast trip, and we will see improvement in February.

It's difficult to tell, but here is the thing:

At this point in time, I'm not going to look at any game and circle it as a loss like I've been used to doing over the last couple of seasons. This team is playing well enough to beat any team.

What is crazy is that this team (with the worst road record in the league) just had the largest comeback on the road in NBA history. If the team can carry that momentum to the rest of the road games this season, they could end up winning quite a bit.

Now being realistic, I don't think we'll be at .500 by February 1st, but to be honest, if we end up having more wins by February 1st than we did all last season it's something to be really excited about.

I did notice the back 2 backs, but I also looked at the opponents schedule as well. I would hope that westphal does a good job of managing the players minutes. I brought up our January schedule because it probablyone the toughest months of the season. I honestly think that we could go 8-10, 6-12 is a nit more likely but still....

I've stopped prognostcating this team after the Bulls game, but if I WAS asked what I thought, I'd saymore like 4-14...VERY rough spot in the schedule.

i wont be too upset if that happened, this is a tough month. but all of the sub .500 teams that we play we play twice except for the wizards which we have already beaten. teams have been underestimating the kings all season and it has cost some of them big time.

I think we go 8-9 and finish this stretch 22-25.

All of last year Kings had only 11 home wins. On December, 28, 2009 they now are 11-5 at home. Watch out for 8 more wins before end of january. :)

sigh... 1-2, how could they do this to me? they had a 12 point lead at one point in the 2nd qtr before they decided that losing isnt that big of a deal. still on pace but this hurts....
