Open Letter to Geoff P.

No the real question is whether Peja from this year shows up or Peja from last year shows up. If Peja from last year shows up then good but if Peja from this year returns we are f'ed.

Ever watched Webber play??? Because it'd be pretty hard to tell by those comments. How can a Power Forward averaging 5 assists a game (he's averaged that for about his whole career) and has had 4 triple doubles this year be a ball hog??? Who was the one they ran the offense through to make all those pretty passes, to set screens for Peja??

BTW; Miller can't jump either and his defense is ALOT worse than Webber's.
Yes I have watched Webber play.. I am a Kings fan for a looong time. Long time before Webber was here.

Webber takes almost as many shots as points scored, and I feel (you will not convince me otherwise) that we were a better team w/o him playing, last year, and this year.

Yeah we were real great Gary, when we played the Spurs without Webber this year for 36 minutes of the game. You can't affix greatness to pounding teams like the Bobcats and the Nets when he was on the bench. All I can say is where are we going from here?

Honestly, if this brings back the Brad Miller that was the second best center in the league without Webber on the floor last year, then this may be a blessing in disguise. If not, well then ... we're f*****.
yer missing the point. it does not matter where the points come from in the kings offense. thats the beauty in the kings offense. if a guy is having an off-night, then there's 3 or 4 other guys who can pick up the slack. webber and bibby have by far been the two most consistent kings this season. they've both had their share of bad games, but more often than not, the team is literally on the shoulders of one of those two guys. then there's brad miller. he's the quandry. he steps in whenever anybody steps out with injury. problem is, now he's gonna be asked to do it every night. w/o webber, the offense is gonna stagnate much more than w/ him. i guarantee it.

Question? Is Peja happy in Sacto without Vlade. If the answer is No, then it's an awful trade. If it's yes then so be it.
I am behind trading Peja as well. I am (if you have read my other posts) totally behind trading someone that does not want to be here i.e. Peja. I was also for trading Webber because of how many shots he would take that were ill advised. Of course I am still miffed about WHO we got for Webber, but Something is better than nothing, and Corliss is a post player.

No, the people that need to stop are the people that are calling the players that are KINGS now names, and calling Petrie every name in the book.. Those are the people that are acting like idiots.. I am PISSED at the people that are totally turing against this organization, Petrie, and the "scrubs". I have a right to vent as well don't I? The trade is a two way street, and I am frankly dissapointed at a lot of you people tonight.

Read some of the posts here and see what crap has been spewed.. Talk to them about being civil.
What do you expect to happen when the team's best player and one of if not the most liked player (the one most responsible for the teams' resurrection from the lottery) is traded for three average at best players. I'm sorry, that's a misprint, he wasn't traded for three players, but it's a 3 for 3 swap that includes Barnes and Bradley. Do you expect those who love the Kings to be happy about this??? Who in their right mind would? Yet you have the nerve to be disappointed in us for venting our frustrations?? Get real.

I prefer the Brad Miller that is the 2nd best center in the league with Webber who has been nothing but a leader, and a clutch shooter, and carried this team in so many fourth quarters.

Venting frustration and calling Petrie every name in the book is different. I was not getting on the people that are venting, I can feel the pain of losing a player that HELPED bring the Kings up from the ashes (OF CORSE VLADE WAS THE OTHER). I am pissed that people are calling KINGS players that were brought in "scrubs". They were just part of the trade and I hope peopel woudl welcome them.

I'll tell you what happened. Tonight GP made a choice. He chose to dump the player that this winning franchise was built around, in favor of a wuss that cannot do anything offensively unless someone sets a screen for him. And the worst part is that he did not get anything back for him. In Petrie I trust has now become "In Petrie I trust to make stupid decisions if that is what it takes for him to keep his boy"
I need to make this my signature. Only question I have is "Why?"

#75
I am not going to comment on Petrie because it's not my style to dump on a person that is part of the Kings.

Furthermore I think it is very unfair to call out Peja being the reason why Webber was traded because no one knows the inside story. It's all speculation.

I understand everyone is stocked and upset but there is no need to name call on current player.

I am also upset with what went down but I have no control over the situation.

Yeah, without Webber this year we were such a POWERHOUSE against New Orleans, Charlotte, and Golden State.

who knew?

I told everyone this weekend, Peja wouldnt be traded, we wouldnt hear about it if he were going to be....

At first, I heard very little about the particulars. I was in the car on my way home when I heard a 93.7 DJ say he was playing hoobastank's "the reason" because he was sad about trading webber. I almost exploded..."WHAT!?!?!?". My next thought was...
__________________________________________Who Knew

I rationilized a little bit...for the next 10 min, I tried to calm down and hope the DJ was joking, or that we got someone who has a lot of upside or trade value...I get home and turn on the TV..."Breaking News: Chris Webber Traded To Sixers" is what ESPNEWS said. 'Oh, maybe we got Korver, or Green, or, if we were lucky, Iggy...

I am pretty darned pissed off right now...I do realize its an irrational state, especially for me and fellow Raiders fans who just traded away two pieces of Raiders future in N. Harris and the 7th pick (for loudmouth Moss), but I'm still very upset.....

Petrie, I'm not trusting you at the moment, but make me believe...make me understand...help us loyal Kings fans, understand and....help us KNOW

Look what are record is with and without webber. We dont need him. It wont be that big of difference in my opinion
WE can actually go back as far as 4 seasons (including this one) to see the difference. Although I believe we are a better overall team with Webber, it is hard to knock the numbers that the team puts down when Webb was on the bench.

Whatever you want to think. We played more than those 3 teams last year.

Gary we also had a great center in Vlade, we had our great 6 man in Bobby. Who do we have to replace them, Skinner, Corliss and Thomas, please.....This isn't the same team minus Webber as last year is it. Now with Webber gone and Bobby hurt we have 3 count them 3 players from last years team.

My letter, now that the tears have stopped, for now

Dear Geoff:

I honestly can't see how or why this deal came about? Given your status as a guy who generally does good trades, I really want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but right now it's too freaking hard to do that considering who the Kings gave up, and who the Kings got back in return. This, short term, look like one of two things(or maybe both and neither are good)

A.) Billy King pulled a fast one over your eyes with the players he gave you.

and/or

B.) This has something to do with Peja on terms of him wanting to stay.

Since Vlade and Doug were already gone, Chris was in fact the franchise. Creaky legs, ill-advised statements and all, he was the guy you either got places with or fell off with. Not forgetting about Matt Barnes, didn't the Kings want a athletic guy who did the scrappy things this team actually needed? Sure his shot selection wasn't the greatest, but he had some value being on the bench. Can't say too much about Bradley but isn't there a 90 day grace period on a player who was already traded beforehand?

Right now I'm a Kings fan who's hurt, confused, angry and generally has a WTF is going on attitude right now. I'm either hoping there's another trade for better, or there's a silver lining in all of this. Otherwise, there's not that much excitement left.

Right now (barring any miracle trades to make up for this tomorrow) Petrie deserves to be called every name in the book for trading our best player and getting bascially nothing in return. He's a big boy, he can handle it, and I'm pretty sure he was expecting alot of backlash for this. And yes, those guys are nothing but scrubs in comparison to Webber.

It's nice you think people will welcome these guys. Let me know what time the parade is for Skinner, Thomas, and Williamson. Hooray, this is it, we'll finally over the hump now!

I know lots of folks feel that Petrie sold out team, and maybe he did. I was a fan before Webber and I am a fan now. I will wait and see how this palys out but I have to say that tonight I am very dissapointed and I compleetly understand the people that feel that a great player who gave it all for the Kings just got hung out to dry.

I hope to see you with the signs at the next game calling our new players all sorts of nice names.. I am not saying we should throw a fricking parade, but they had NOTHING to do with WHO They were traded for, and I am sure the last thing they would want is to feel unwelcomed.

[sarcasm]Need some purple glitter for the "scrub" sign? I have some left over from the "Petrie is a ****" sign.[/sarcasm]

Since you're unable to comprehend this, I have nothing against the 3 new Kings. The problem I have is with Petrie for hanging our best player out to dry and not getting anywhere near equal value in return. It's only natural to vent and be mad. That's one of the things the board is for; comprehende??

BTW; stop worrying about their feelings. Do you think any of us really give a
sh!t about that right now??? We just lost CWebb for 3 overpaid role players. Do you think I or any real Kings fan with a brain is too overly concerned about the feelings of these role players??

I agree with a lot of what you say Gary (except the part about Kings fans who can go to hell) but I also think we should have gotten more for Chris. It's a slap in the face to a lot of fans that not only love Webber and what he did for the Kings franchise but also feel we were fleeced.

I am sorry for the hell remark, and I shouldn't be name calling myself.

I got irritated at people that were doubting Petrie, and how quickly they can turn on someone they they praise.. I was irritated with that.. I sholdn't name call or say certain things. Anyhow, I understand why people are mad at Petrie. I am as well, but I think name calling is the lowest form of anger outside of violence.

You sound like a pacifist. You and Peja would get along well.
