You remember how well Webber and Vlade executed on offense?
Oh God...

Do I remember?

Excuse me a moment. I have to see if the store down the street has any more Kleenex...

In fact please start lobbying Sixers management -- after all, A.I. and Webb only have so many years left right? ;)
Haha.

I feel your pain man. Remember I live in the city that traded Wilt and Barkley. It sucks when you follow a players career and he is loyal to the city and franchise and then management doesn't show the same loyalty back. It feels like getting kicked in the nuts. :(

I think we should trade Harry Potter for Viktor Krum. Krum's the tough, strong, hard-around-the-edges guy that the Kings so desperately need. Potter's the fleet-footed finesse player that we have so many of.

Thoughts?

With the Bucks losing F Joe Smith for 6-8 weeks, this might be a good time to swing a deal. I doubt the Bucks would be interested, but just a thought. Feel free to post your opinions.

Jamaal Magloire from Milwaukee
Magloire was recently traded and as a result he cannot be traded until Dec 26

Bobby Simmons from Milwaukee
Simmons was recently signed a contract and as a result he cannot be traded until Dec 15

Change in team outlook: -14.1 ppg, +0.4 rpg, and -0.6 apg.

Successful Scenario
Due to Milwaukee and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Milwaukee and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

New line-up for the Kings:

Miller
SAR
Magloire
Wells
Bibby

Simmons
Cisco
Skinner
Hart
Martin
Sampson
Price

The trade also works with Skinner in Williamson's place, but I don't see the Bucks wanting Skinner again.

What if we traded Peja and Thomas for Simmons and Gadzuric? Simmons and Gadzuric would provide us with some toughness, defense, rebounding, and shotblocking, while loosing some outside shooting ability, which is well worth it. Have Gadzuric start next to miller to make up for his defensive liabilities b/c shareef does not, and have shareef off the bench which would solve our bench scoring/leadership problems. Good trade for both sides.

Okay, at this point I feel somewhat honor-bound to tell you...I'm not a man.

Nothing like this will work.

Bottom line: We need to package our chips for a superstar, then sign free agents who want to come here and make a run. Maybe make a few other trades to get the right pieces.

That's what we did in the last run.

That, or draft a Duncan, Lebron, Amare type player.

Not sure on getting both Deng and Nocioni for Peja though. I'd think one, in Deng, along with other piece(s).
If there were any questions about Deng's shooting, the Boston/Detroit/Dallas games in the last 3-4 days answered them. The guy can shoot, indeed. :)

How do you know that would not work? It's not easy getting a legitamite frontcourt superstar with tremendous interior defense, cause yes, thats what we really need...BUT if we had a guy alongside Brad(ala Gadzuric) to compliment his game and be that interior presense, then we could do some things, especially with a guy like shareef off the bench, who could be a supersub to carry that second unit. Youd be surprised how much one defensive presence in the middle can help, especially if they are not undersized, and very athletic

I just don't see us winning a championship with Bibby, Bonzi, Simmons Gadzuric and Miller. Just don't. Even with Reef off the bench. Yes, it may make us better. But I don't want to be better, I want to be the best.

We have 3 or 4 good to semi all-star players. If we put them all or some together we could get a guy like Bosh. Then we get a hard nose defensive specialist like Nazr. How hard would it be to get a Nazr type guy? I say we trade Peja and Miller for Bosh, trade KT and Corliss for a Nazr type guy. That would give us Bibby, Bonzi, Sisco or Kmart at the three, Bosh, and a big tuffy at center, and we still have Reef off the bench! Give them time to gel, and it may be a winner. Or maybe we put Reef at the three and have a serious post game. I'm partial to Bibby because he brings it when the season is on the line, the only time that really matters.

Okay, for two years now I've been advocating our acquisition of a bona fide superstar and then build around him. I've probably worn everyone out with the "get Paul Pierce" refrain but now I'm thinking of .....Tracy McGrady! Yes, I know he's locked up in Houston but if you listen to the news coming out of Houston where they've done a "Kings sized" belly flop coming out of the gate they are rumoured to be making a move. So what I propose is Peja and Mike to Houston for Tracy and Bobby Sura and it works on Realgm. Why do we do it? Obviously for McGrady, who would immediately command respect by the opposition and give us that go-to guy we've always wanted. Sura is mainly filler but could do a creditable job at the point if his knees hold out and, as we've noted in the past, a PG in our system mainly brings the ball up the floor to the high post. Now the really tough part...why would Houston do it? Well, in truth, they probably wouldn't but with Peja and Bibby working the outside and Yao the inside it would balance their team up more. The way they use McGrady now is as a secondary assault if Yao has failed to dominate the game early and give them a lead. Alston has been a bust (they should have kept James) and the magic they had last year has yet to surface.

Well, its a nice proposal, but I think Houston is about ready to move everybody NOT names McGrady. Including the coach. I'm not even sure Yao is 100% safe at the moment (which is interesting...)

Hmm... Miller, Peja and KT for Yao, Stro, Bob Sura and Moochie Norris?

P.S. I think Adelman and Carrill would wet themselves over having Yao to run the Princeton.

Yao to run the PO? Sick, sick, sick... Rebounding and shot-blocking to go along with passing and shooting skills. Who says you can't have it all? A pipe dream but I'd jump at that.

Now get Garnett too and we'd have it all.

Yao at the high post? Pretty intriguing thought given his face to the basket game is equal to or even better than his back to the basket game...he could run the pick and roll and has the footwork to roll pretty good and can finish. Pssst, don't tell Houston they're running the wrong offense down there, trying to make him into a Shaq daddy clone instead of molding the offense around his skills.

As good as his post game is, if we acquired him and stuck a 7'6" man in the high post facing the basket somebody at Kings HQ would deserve to be shot. No, seriously. Multiple times.

Crazy "Fun With Real GM" three-way trade:

Kings send Miller, KT to Houston, Peja to Toronto

Houston sends Yao, Swift to Kings, Bob Sura to Toronto

Toronto sends Aaron Williams (expiring deal), Eric Williams to Kings, Charlie Villanueva to Houston

New Kings:
PG - Bibby
SG - Bonzi
SF - Eric Williams
PF - SAR
C - Yao
Bench: Hart, Martin, Garcia, Swift, Skinner, Corliss, Williams

Note: Kings now have a defensive stopper in Eric Williams and Yao directing the offense, shotblocking, rebounding

New Rockets:
PG - Head
SG - Wesley
SF - McGrady
PF - Villanueva
C - Miller
Bench: Norris, Barry, Anderson, KT, Howard

Note: Rockets get Miller, KT and young potential in Villanueva

New Raptors:
PG - Mike James
SG - Jalen Rose
SF - Peja
PF - Bosh
C - Araujo

Note: Raptors give up Villanueva (duplicate position as Bosh) and change for Peja

Sadly, I don't think Houston will give up Yao in a million years.

and thank god that they wouldn't

why would you want to trade one overrated and extremely soft foreign player for one forien player thats even more overrated and just as soft? please...

that deal looks good if we keep miller, they keep yao

Uh..no.

Yao is if nothing else titanic, has a great post game, can block shots, and is a significant impediment to anybody wanting to post up inside.

i like this trade much better: (trade checker id: 686849)

Rockets send Stromile Swift and Ryan Bowen to Sacto, Bob Sura and Lonny Baxter to Toronto

Sacramento sends KT to Houston, Peja and Corliss to Toronto

Toronto sends Matt Bonner, Eric and Aaron Williams to Sacramento, Villanueva to Houston

Rockets

PG - Alston/Head
SG - Wesley
SF - McGrady
PF - Villanueva/KT
C - Yao

Why? They get rid of a Stromile Swift that has not fit in their team the way they wanted, and replace him with 2 guys that will. It does create a logjam at PF though with KT and that other PF they have starting now...so I think if i redid this trade i'd have Corliss go here and KT go to Toronto...annyway

Sacramento

PG - Bibby
SG - Bonzi
SF - Eric Williams/Matt Bonner
PF - SAR/Aaron Williams/Stromile
C - Brad Miller/Skinner

crap gotta go

I agree completely. If Yao has underperformed thus far in it's career it's because he can't pass himself the ball.

I'd go for Yao and I think he'd get more PT here. For one thing, I think he'd learn to avoid foul trouble here....

Yao is just a franchise-level talent, and he's only 25. I don't really think my above scenario would be acceptable to Houston. But would you trade Bibby and Miller for Yao and change? Hmm...
