Successful ScenarioDue to Sacramento and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Odom would fit in the princeton well, he improves our rebounding, he gets out of LA where he doesn't like kobe, he's a good passer+ballhandler so bibby could play off the ball part time. He would be a good fit on our team. I still want KMart to start though so I'd want to do the AleksanderN bosh trade too. Hey I can pray right?

It won't happen. There is NO reason on earth for the Lakers to do that deal. None. Except to answer your prayers and I don't think they're gonna do that.

;)

I dont Lamar Odom...consistant, but brings nothing much else to the table. Never has won in his career, or contributed to winning, for that matter. I dont want him. Doesnt bring anything in the way of energy. We need energy. Gimme Loul Deng.

Hey, Gary! I am not repsonding to your post. I am responding to your signature. Are you ready!!!!........................................................THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO ROUND AND ROUND, ROUND AND ROUND. WHO DEY? THE STEELERS THAT WHO.:D

Yeah there is. Laker fans want a 2nd scorer pretty badly. I think Peja would benefit from Kobe, unlike a lot of other players. Kobe gets people open a lot, peja hits open shots a lot. Also gives them a good rebounder in kenny and he can give you 13-15 ppg. Maybe if we threw in skinner?

So, now you are saying Peja, KT, & Skinner for Odom & Cook?

No way! We give up way too much. Odom and Cook won't cut it. Besides, never deal with your arch enemy.

What about this? What if Phil JAckson gets fed up with Kobe and wants him gone. How about this trade then.

P.S. I am bored so sue me:D

What about a Pedja, Bonzi and SAR for Kwame and Kobe.

Lakers get a cheap a PF and Pedja and Bonzi for the year. The Lakers would be ok this year and have alot of cap space for the next two years to lure a superstar(Bosh anyone).

We get the heart and the true competitor we are truely missing plus an athletic big man. THis would be our starting lineup: I think Brad and Bibby would work really well with Kobe.

PG:Bibby
SG:Martin
SF:Kobe
PF:Brown
C:Brad

Phil Jackson once pressed Laker management to trade Kobe to the Suns, basically for Shawn Marion.

Of course, that was a long time ago, and Phil has had to come to terms with the fact that he is second banana in La La Land. Jerry Buss has clearly shown that this incarnation of the Lakers is Kobe's team.

Besides, if for some reason the Lakers were to trade Kobe, it wouldn't be for a set of 28-29 year olds, 2 of which are free agents which will require big, longterm deals to retain. They'd get a lot more than that for the best wing in the game. Likely it would be a package of draft picks, young players and ending contracts. With the Lakers looking like they'll have sizeable caproom in 2007, they could rebuild quickly if they were shrewd with their moves.

On the other hand, they can keep Kobe and build around one of the game's greatest players. They'll still have caproom in two years and possibly a solid center in prepster Bynum, a rarity in today's NBA. Lamar Odom will either learn to mesh better with Kobe or could be a decent piece to trade.

IMO, the Lakers are in a better position than the Kings. It's always easier to build around one true superstar than a collection of good but flawed players. LA knows that too. . .

Well for one Bonzi and Pedja are both expiring contracts also they get a very cheap complementary player in SAR which also allows them to move Odom if they want more cap room. We could also give them a pick or two as well. Getting rid of most of their contracts would make it easier to rebuild through FA.

30 to 62 points is great but not when you take 30 to 40 shots a night and shoot 30% thats not great. Give me any good shooter in the NBA i.e. Peja, Bibby, Rip, Wade,...... let them shoot 37 times as did Kobe the other night when he scored 45 and 19 trips to the line and i will show you 50 to 100 ppl that can get 45 points with that many attempts and trips to the line. Bibby scored 38 with 20 shot attempts and 14 trips to the line give bibby 17 more attempts and 5 more trips to the line and i bet he scores more than 45.

...and we had our superstar and traded him for 3 journeymen role players, and in turn, traded our identity in the league, as well. Another great post Kingston. Game, set match...thanks Geoff.

Yeah you're right. Hmmm, okay who are some other sf's that can handle/bring the ball up and pass well? I'm looking for a guy that lets mike play off the ball more, because garcia's not quite ready just yet.
