Old T.V. shows

What T.V. shows did you like when you were growing up?

The ones I like were Magnum P.I.(there were something about Magnum and his car that made me dream at night that I was a P.I. driving a Ferrari busting the bads guys and being with a beautiful women:D ) and of course Maud (because Maud was a cool rude blank) and last but not leased A Team (they kicked butt plus Murdock was the best character ever.) I could list more but that would take too much time and space

I used to watch too much T.V. when I was a kid.

Up until I was about 10, I'd watch anything, but I was completely obsessed with "Land Of The Lost" and "That's Incredible". Slightly less obsessed with "The Transformers". Other stuff I regularly watched were WWF, MTV videos, "Diff'rent Strokes", "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" with Jack Palance, and "You Can't Do That On Television" on Nickelodeon. Even beyond that, my brother and I mindlessly watched hours of crap like "The Brady Bunch" and "Gilligan's Island".

There was no cable when I was growing up..only 7 stations. Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Sea Hunt and Rifleman were staples in my house.

7 stations? I believe we had 3. :o

Westerns were the most popular genre back then. I really enjoyed Gunsmoke the best.

C'mon, 80's peeps, no love for "Small Wonder"?

To do my list of favorite shows justice, I had to categorize.

Old shows in sindication: "I Love Lucy," "Batman" "The Addams Family," "Twilight Zone," "The Munsters," "The Monkees"

Kids Shows: "Pee Wee's Playhouse," "Land of the Lost," "Mr. Wizard," "3-2-1 Contact" "You Can't Do That on Television," "The Muppet Show," "Fraggle Rock"

Cartoons: "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle," "Thundercats," "Voltron," "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," "She-Ra: Princess of Power," "The Snorks," "The Get Along Gang," "My Little Pony," "Popples," "Jem & The Holograms," and every weekday morning I'd watch old Disney and Warner Bros. cartoons, and reruns of the 1960's limited animation "Thor" and "The Hulk" cartoons.

SitComs: "Diff'rent Strokes," "The Facts of Life," "Saved by the Bell," "Doogie Howser, M.D." "Roseanne," "The Wonder Years"

Dramas: "St. Elsewhere," "Twin Peaks" even though it gave me nightmares

Man, I was (am) a TV addict.

I also had an odd obsession with, um, the scrambled channels as a child, but I don't think that qualifies as a show.

how 'bout Have gun will travel,Get smart, the man from u.n.c.l.e.,Six leauges under the sea. (i believe thats the name) with Richard Basehart.

was'nt Six leauges,it was Voyage to the bottom of theSea.

We only had a black and white tv until i was about 8. I remember the excitement about the arrival of the video recorder. (by then i was about 12 or 13 i think).

Anyway, I can relate to most of the ones mentioned by 3G, but especially The Wonder Years. We used to sit down and watch the events of the Arnold family late afternoon on Sundays. I can remember laughing and crying at the same episode!

Saturday morning was always great. Champion the Wonder Horse and Zorro. Sundays was Little House on the Prarie and The Waltons.

Yep..2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13...I still have trouble figuring out which stations in Sacto. correspond to the ones I grew up with. (abc, nbc, cbs, etc..)

When I was young, Sacramento had four stations: 3, 10, 13 and 40. I remember our first TV didn't have UHF, so we couldn't get 40.

I watched things like The Roy Rogers Show, Fury, The Howdy Doody Show, Crusader Rabbit. My brother liked Popeye. Mom and Dad watched - that I remember - The Red Skelton Show, Peter Gunn, Playhouse 90, Bonanza and Gunsmoke.

When Bonanza went to color, we actually got the first color TV on the block.

I watched pretty much all of therm with a few exceptions of course.

I loved Small Wonder. Ive always wondered what happened to those 2 kids on that show. And did they dress the girl "robot" in those hideous clothes? She mustve been miserable.

There was a show in the early 90's on NBC on Saturdays. It was about a teenager whose dad was an alien from outer space. For some strange reason I loved that show.

G.I Joe I loved that show as a kid. Watched Gi. Jow kicking Cobras butt on a weekly basis was something I looked forward too.

Smurfs was a show i watched every Saturday.

Im sure there are tons of shows im leaving out. I watched way too much TV.

I was 19 when my area of South Sac got cable (94) so I just had 3,10,13,31, 40.

It was late 80's and called "Out of This World." I had to wrack my brains for that title, but you can definitely add that one to my list as well. You have no idea how many times I wanted to stop time but touching my fingers together, just like Evie did.

Some more that need to be added to my list are "News Radio," "Freakazoid," "GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling," "The Cosby Show," "A Different World," "Martin," "Living Single," "The Ben Stiller Show," "Herman's Head," and "Mystery Science Theatre 3000."

Again. Way too much damn TV as a child. Its amazing to me that my head hasn't rotted completely out of my brain yet.

Sorry, I'm in the midst of Tryptophan excess. I waited until right after the game to eat my turkey sandwich and I'm feeling a tad giddy...

;)

Hey, wait. Wasn't there a guy on one of the cartoon shows whose brain was bigger than his head? And wasn't he some kind of evil mastermind genius?

Maybe you've been missing your true calling all this time.

;)

Yes that was it. Out of This World. Danke.

I realized that I averaged about 7 hours of TV a day.

there was "Pinky and the Brain" on Anamaniacs.

When you all talk about growing up with old TV shows of the late 80's and early 90's, you have no idea how old you make me feel.:( Then again, I do let some of you call me Grandma 6th. It really fits. :D

I forgot ALF, Robotech,Hercules(the old cartoon) and I liked the Jefferson's and of course Welcome Back Carter and Perfect Strangers as well oh and Miami Vice

I remember that show, although I didn't watch it. It had that woman who played the character that Travolta didn't like in Sat Night Fever.
