I say Peja plays extrememly well this year MVP candidate once again, but Kings exit 2nd round again, and Kings trade him.

If they wait till the end of the year though there will be no trade option. It will be sign him or let him walk for nothing in return.

yo i know how we could get rid of KT wiliamson contract trade them to the knicks for tim tomas (exp contract) larry browns get his six man in williamson again we get rid of KT contract n we would have a nice back up in tim thomas for pedja he works out he could b the bobby jackson of the kings. i rem wen the torched the kings i one game. hes a streaky player but wth limited mins this could work out

Getting rid of KT now after using the MLE on SAR would be stupid since it's extremely unlikely that Darius comes back now. KT is now the backup PF and he should only be traded if they can have Darius and or someone else play the backup.

Why do we need another scorer on the bench? Trade him for a couple of players who can rebound and play D. KT is just a softie and is not what we want from the bench.

Have you ever seen Kenny Thomas play? He rebounds very well. So does Skinner. I think the rebounding isn't much of an issue any more. BTW Kenny Thomas is NOT a "soft" player. Niether is Corliss. Niether is Skinner. The rest...well lets just say its open to debate. ;)

Agreed, if we can swing a deal like that. However, if we can't then he's our backup PF and Darius is history. I would love to have Reggie Evans be the backup.

I don't think Thomas is soft either, Corliss and Skinner aren't either. I just don't see Corliss and Thomas around next season.

Agreed with you DW. :)

He rebounds by having the ball fall to him. Whenever there is lots of traffic below the hoop, KT is always just a little short in coming up with the rebound. Put him against a good PF and the good PF will grab the rebound over him 9 out of 10 times.

If it wasn't for Kenny's contract I wouldn't mind keeping him on the bench. He could be a 6th man candidate for us backing up SAR and Peja. He would provide some scoring punch of the bench and some rebounding. Unfortunately he is earning starters money and scary thing is if he stays, he will be earning more than Shareef and Kenny would be the back up

People think that Kenny won't be a King when the season starts. Personally, I am not too sure about that. Whenever, I hear Kenny's name mentioned, I recall what Petrie and Adelman had to say about him after the season. I think they like him a fair bit and I can totally see him staying and being our 6th man. GP and Adelman has said that they think Kenny would be a very nice fit for our system and he would get better after a training camp.

Obviously, they didn't want him as a starter but I get the feeling that they like him as a bencher a hell of a lot.

I honestly think he will not get enough playing time behind SAR unless the Kings play Kenny and SAR together when Pedja takes a breather and still that might not be enough playing time for Kenny. He has complained before about not starting. I do not see him being all to much happy SAR coming here to take his starting spot. I think he is the next in line to be traded if we are still going to keep our core.

Someone said that Kenny is happy to be in the "active rotation" if he is not a starter.

If both Peja and SAR play 36 mpg, then there could be 20-25 minutes there for Kenny. Obviously this will depend on the opposition and whether we go with Bonzi at SF and Martin/Garcia/Hart at SG for a number of minutes.

Either way he could be getting 20 minutes a night but the question is will Kenny be happy with that??????

It's either gonna be KT gone, or on the bench. Simple as that. I'm leaning towards the former.

Songaila is likely gone too.
But we don't really know that. We are guessing what we might like to see happen not what is likely to happen.

I think this Kenny wanting to start has been blown out of all proportions. He complained about not being a starter both in Philly and in Sacramento. However, when you really look at who was starting ahead of him then he had every right to express that opinion because he was clearly the better player. Now SAR is a former all-star, career 19/8 guy who is clearly better than Thomas. I don't think Thomas would be bitching and moaning about not starting when he has a player who is clearly better than him ahead of him in the pecking order.

I don't think Kenny coming off the bench is much of an issue. Its more to do as to what his role would be once he steps on the court. I think he could be sold on a similar role than Bobby had with us. Obvioucly 2 totally different players but if Kenny could be sold on the role, he could be a pretty valuable piece of the rotation but once again his contract is just too big for a reserve.

Personally, I would trade him but I am not sure Kings feel the same way about it.

I know how unlikely this is but...

I'm sorry if this has already been posted. This trade worked on realgm.com and seems good but I highly doubt the Timberwolveswould do it.

I don't think that should even be part of the equation. Kenny is getting paid millions. He will play as he is told to play or ride the bench. But the money he is making could be better spent. Our backups should be a change of pace and energy. KT has the same attitude and style of play as SAR, it's pointless to have a duplicate on the bench. We need tough guys, bangers on the bench. I'll say it again: Matt Harpring. Somehow, if we get this guy, we would be much much better off. Perfect fit for our sixth man- he can score in bunches, play d, rebound, and has toughness and energy. B-Jax reincarnated as a SF.

I agree. Matt Harpring would be ideal. If Geoff can get Harpring we are SERIOUS contenders.

yea we deff. are a good backup PF away from title contention. harpring could do that. i dont trust KT that much. especially with what he is being paid
