Yes, within a few hours TDOS will officially come to an end. With the start of the first Kings pre-season game, we pass from "off-season" to "pre-season" and we know that REGULAR SEASON is right around the corner.
To all of you who've stuck around during TDOS, thanks. To those of you who will be returning after what seemed to be an interminable length of time, welcome back!!!
Let's get ready for a season of KINGS basketball!
For newcomers:
We have some interesting features here that you might want to check out.
First, I do a play-by-play of most games as they occur. This is not for discussion. This is my way of sharing the game experience with those of you who are not able to see the games yourselves. It's not perfect by any means but it does give you a rabid Kings fan's point of view of the action. It's not an interactive thread. We have a game discussion thread for that.
Game discussion threads are generally started by our resident pessimist, Piksi. He'll start it off with a narrative about what we can expect or fear from the coming game. You may not always agree with him, but I'm pretty sure you'll quickly become addicted to his threads. During the game, this is the thread where you can share your feelings, thoughts, etc. about the game. As a reminder, just remember the rules of the board. We don't allow profanity and extreme player bashing is a no-no.
Another unique feature of Kingsfans.com is the highly regarded grade thread done after the game by Bricklayer. He looks at each player's performance in the game and, based on his own unique grading system - which none of us really understand - gives a critique of the player and a letter grade. You can agree or disagree, but his threads generally are the basis for some really good after-game discussions.
We also have chat available at mIRC. Hosted by Mr. S£im Citrus, it's also a great place to go. Sometimes they just talk about the games; other times you may find yourself in a discussion of the WWE. Mr. S£im will, I'm sure, post information for people who want to participate.
And now, to paraphrase Hank Williams, Jr...
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME BASKETBALL?
Then, now and forever - I LOVE THIS TEAM!!
GO KINGS!!!
