Official 2013-14 Free Agent Tracking Thread

I reckon that is a good signing for Clippers. He is one guy in this free agency who did not get overpaid.
So, another big man who is making around $6 mill a year, seems like the going rate for rotational bigs. If Hawes gets injured next year and plays minimal games, would his contract be considered toxic?

Their jar already has rocks. They can fill the rest with sand.

Our jar needs more rocks, but we decided to fill it with sand first, leaving us no room for rocks.

In terms of rocks and sand, I'm not sure I'd invest in any more rocks until the rocks we have have a little more time to prove they are worth it. You don't just jump from total conjecture to total commitment. Let the Cuz/Gay rocks along with the sand we are putting together show us improved results, supporting their rock-hood. Just a thought.

You bury rocks under enough sand and you never know they are there.... :)

Hawes 4 years 23 mil with the Clippers. Will be very interesting to see how he performs and is utilized on a well-coached contending team. I've always thought he has a high bball IQ.

think he'll fit perfectly. they got jordan and griffin to help block shots for him. also he'll be more like a 4th, 5th option on offense. he won't be under any pressure to score only feed on open shots created by other players.

Oh goodie. Another item to add to my list of reasons why I hate the Clippers. ;)

Question CB4 looks like he's opting out is there any way we could do a package including IT/Landry/WIlliams and whatever other expiring deal to get him? Cousins + Bosh would be fairly nasty and I think on defense Chris Bosh is super underrated he contests long jumpers very well and at times can protect the rim ,on offensce he will stay out of the way and will make the middy and can himself take over.

He's a free agent, not restricted. The odds of him agreeing to come to us are about the same as Justin Bieber joining the cast of Duck Dynasty.

And yes, the Chris Bosh defense debate goes on. I come down on the side that calling that scrawny guava mango smoothie sipping wuss by his proper name would be an insult to women everywhere who have far more balls and toughness.

Is that name Velociraptor?

The Bobcats are going to try sign Hayward could this open the door for us to snag Henderson? He can be the starting 2 guard while we develop one of Ben or Nik depending on who we try trade for him (we also throw in expiring deals).

Frye gets a $32 milion/4 years contract with the Magic...

I'm glad we are not the Magic.
This is why I found it really strange that people were talking smack about the Hawes deal when Hawes all around is a way better player than Fyre.

I don't think 2 guard should be our priority right now. We got Nik and Ben and then there's also to possibility to give Marshon Brooks a contract, since he's playing for us in Summer League!

Getting good two way players who can help you win and in the future is a priorty at every position other than C on this team. We would obviously trade one of them. Malone preaches defense well you got yourself a excellent defender in Henderson and he's no joke going the other way either.

Regardless how stacked we are with players at a position we still have to get starting level players Hendo is that. Who knows Nik or Ben could also land you a decent shot blocking big in another trade.

With Hayward getting a max offer from the hornets maybe we should revisit bringing back Tyreke at the point. He would be a great fit next to Nik in the backcourt. The numbers work for Thompson and Terry for Tyreke. It would be a salary dump of sorts for the hornets, but a possibility.

I really can't understand how Hayward can be a max player. Come on, it's time for another lockout to save teams from their own stupidity.

Players will still want more. Owners will want less, despite the Clipps selling for 2B. It will be a long lock-out.

Yeah, this offer was from the new Hornets/old Bobcats, not the old Hornets/new Pelicans :p
