I think it would be pretty cool if Evans, JT, Greene, and Casspi could make the NBA frosh soph All-Star game. That would do a great deal towards lifting everyones spirits if were having another losing season... LOL! (thats uplifting right?)

Anyway I think JT, and Evans have very good odds, and it would be rad if Greene put it all together, cause he definitely has the talent, and if Casspi could play some and be consistent this rookie class is pretty weak...

So Whats your take and thoughts?

Could someone add a poll to this... like you could pick one or two or all four guys.

?????

Dude, they haven't even stepped on the court yet. I'm not sure where this goes but I'm having a hard time thinking this is anything more than "what if" fantasy stuff...

I'll add the poll but I'm thinking this is WAY too premature, and that's going to be one of the options.

if those 4 are doing good enough to make the fresh-soph all-star game then we are probably not having a losing season.

If all of them are playing well enough to even be mentioned as all-stars, I'd better not make any vacation plans for June.

:p

LOL! well its not the real All-Star game... but it could signify the talented youth movement we got going on here...

even tho its not a real All-Star game it would be nice to see any Kings jerseys during that weekend...

thats for sure... anyway polls are fun! YEA! Fantasy stuff!

I hope that Evans makes it.

Greene & Casspi making it to the All-star game? Wow...
It's the Frosh/Soph game, not the All Star Game...

I think that Evans is a lock. All #4 picks go to that game! Jason has a great shot too if he continues to improve. Maybe Casspi can blow people away too, but he's a long shot for now...

maybe the entire country of israel votes Casspi to the all-star game.
you can be sure his gonna get more than 4 million votes just from israel. ;)

well maybe not 4 milion's but i bet theres going to be some millions :}

CASSPI TO THE ALLSTAR GAME!! :D

Evans will make it because he was chosen in the top 5. Everyone else will get snubbed because they won't get any attention regardless of how well the play.

I don't see Greene and especially Casspi getting many minutes to start with.

I don't know about that. Westfall has shown the inclination to play young players throughout his coaching career. I also think a lot will have to do with what Casspi is able to do this season, and how much Greene has improved his game from last season. I would love to see the Kings be able to trade Noc because both Greene AND Casspi were pushing him for minutes.

As I said somewhere else I do not see Nocioni traded before the deadline!

Nocioni will get majority of the minutes at SF and will no doubt spend some time at PF. Martin will see the bulk of the minutes at SG and Garcia will be the main back up for both Martin and Nocioni. That doesn't leave a lot of minutes to others.

Greene probably is ahead of Casspi based purely on NBA experience and being in the system for a whole season.

I think the idea with Noc is to have him start, pump up his numbers and be a mentor to Casspi. When the trade deadline comes around and contenders are looking for a tough, productive role player, we can ship off Noc for some capspace and/or some youngsters and/or picks

Getting on the rookie/soph teams really is a matter of how much playing time they will have gotten by then. JT starts and should make it on the Sophs. If Evans gets 20-25 min/gm and does anywhere near what we all speculate, then he should get on the rooks. Playing time will be the enemy for Casspi and Brockman as it will be tough to get much unless they surprise in real games.

what would the NBA do if casspi was voted into the all star game and he barely played? Do you think they'd change the whole voting system? That'd be pretty funny though, I would love to see sterns explanation.

If he were voted to the all-star game - which I'm betting is NOT going to happen - he'd play.

If they really wanted to control the situation, they'd simply skew the voting results. After all, it's not like the tabulations are kept under lock and key in a mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnell's doorstep or anything.

It would be incredibly easy to "modify" the accepted votes. And I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's been done on occasion.

The All-Star game is entertainment, a show for the fans. It's about ratings and it's about selling merchandise. The fan favorites aren't always the most qualified. That ship sailed a very long time ago.

I don't know how many votes will actually be enough for him to get into the all star game, but a few months from now after the Israeli excitement had died down a little, I'm pretty sure our (Israel's) votes will not be enough.

In any case, I don't see why Stern will need to explain anything to anyone. After all, if Casspi were to receive enough votes, then it simply means that there are enough people out there that want him in the roster.

Exactly.

That would be the greatest All-Star Game intro ever: "You know him as the fourth string small forward of the Sacramento Kings. He averages 6 minutes and 2 points per game, and just returned from a five game stint with the Reno Bighorns. Your Western Conference starting forward: Ooooomri Caaaaaasspi!"

Well, it is a little early for this, but i'll play.

If Evans doesnt make it, were in trouble. He was touted as a 'NBA ready' pick, and if he cant make this game we might be seeing the end of GP's run with the kings.

JT has a decent shot .. about as good a chance as Spencer had last season, but he might not make it cause he plays for the kings, Im leaning towards he doesnt make it.

Greene is another long shot, I only see him making if is Nocioni and Garcia go down with some kind of injury or at least one of them is traded this offseason.

And Casspi, well Casspi has about 0% chance.

If Omri got enough votes, unless he was nationally popular, I'm sure the NBA would skew the results.

During his rookie year, Yi Jianlian probably got enough votes to start on the all-star game, yet by the time the final votes were shown, he wasn't even on the "runners up" list.

As I said somewhere else I do not see Nocioni traded before the deadline!

I wouldn't be surprised if he was traded at the deadline or this Summer sometime. I am just hoping against hope that Casspi and Greene will show so much this Summer to the FO that they won't feel the need to keep Nocioni around. That may be too much to hope for, but we all have to keep our dreams alive for as long as possible.

I understand that it's the frosh/soph game. It is like the all-star game for their draft class. And how is Evans a 'lock'? Nobody is.

The same reason Oden made it. All he has to do is average eh numbers to get in because the voting is all about media coverage. The only reason Evans might not make it is because BSPN hates Sacramento and won't give Evans any highlights.

im sure that casspi can get lots of minutes even in his rookie season, hes going to suprize all of ou guyz. i don think theres anybody on sacramento which got so much energy as casspi got. ;)

but w/e, i just want the kings to get to the playoff's ,

Don't get your hopes up that the Kings are going to make the playoffs next season... But we definitely have some promising young talent and Tyreke Evans definitely should make it to the Frosh-Soph All Star game, JT has a decent chance, but the other 2 have basically no chance but they still may develop into very good players.
