I think Noc for Scalabrine & House(both expiring, waive house and he goes back to boston) + Bostons first this upcoming year (Prolly 24-30) would be a good deal for both teams...
dam i'd take that.
So would it, which is probably proof that it would never happen.dam i'd take that.
Age and length of contract don't fit here, I'd gladly give him up for expirings.
Not a question of what fits here, a question of what you can get in return. And I think you can probably do better than expirings.

I hope we keep Nocioni, we cant have all rook/couple year players we need some leadership also. Nocioni has heart, scrappy and plays good d.
The more i think about trading Noc or Garcia, the more I want to Keep Noc instead. For this reason. Noc is a 3/4, Garcia is a 2/3,.. We just got a 1/2 in the draft and we also have two 3/4's looking for time (Greene,Casspi). Now we dont want ANY time being taken away from Evans. He needs those minutes at point and at Shooting Guard. Noc and our other 3/4's are versatile so two of them can be on the court at the same time one playing power forward one small forward. I see this scenario as the most logical minutes wise for development of our young players.
I don't think Evans is a 1/2. For all intent and purposes, he's a 1 at this point in his development. He can't shoot 3s on a regular basis like you need from a 2. Therefore, you need Garcia to fill in that 2 role much more than Noc where there is already a logjam. Maybe in a few years Evans can be a nice spot up outside shooter, but not now.
well after the marion trade we could trade nocioni to orlando for their tpe that they got from hedo's s&t to toronto.... they could use a starting sf now that hedo is gone....
This is true, but can they afford him? This is a team that was spewing money just last season and you would think they would have love to have had Hedo back if it was in the budget. So they let Hedo go and bring in Noc for only a few dollars less (relatively speaking)?

Nocioni makes what, $7.5 mil this year, and descends after that. Hedo just signed a 5 year deal averaging something like $10.5 mil/year. Assuming that starts at maybe $9 mil/year (I don't see a firm number anywhere), that is $3 mil the first year (incl. lux tax) and the difference widens greatly thereafter. Could be enough.
that would be my reason for doing it. by the end of the deal its less than a mle contract. any other player that they get will cost them more money even if its a mle deal because they all increase every year. moneywise nocioni is their best option, besides trading for a real pf that is. but what starting pf can they get for 7 million that wont cost 8 million next year? instead they get a sf/pf who costs 7 this year and 6 million next year.... and 5 after that. maybe they can trade for oberto and he would be a expiring this year. he would be the only player that i can think of unless he's already been waived. maybe scola....
i dunno. it would be a waste since all they can use is the mle. can they use part of the tpe in a trade? they could use it to trade for some of minny's useless, undersized bigs... darius, craig smith, madsen.... if they want kenny thomas they can have him.... thomas and brockman for their tpe.
Nocioni does have a lot of heart. Lord knows the Kings are in short supply of players with heart and experience. If we had to get rid of one or the other, I say get rid of Garcia.I hope we keep Nocioni, we cant have all rook/couple year players we need some leadership also.
