No matter what happens with the number 5 pick...

I believe Petrie is gonna draft one of these two guys in the late first round or with our second round pick

Kevin Seraphin

great article on it... huge upside. Has the body of an NBA 4 and in a couple of years, could be a great players. Projected in the late first round

Ryan Richards

Killed it at the Combine. Great measurements, only 19 years old. He's gonna be good in a couple of years too. projected early second round

I would be happy with either of these players. Give them an extra year in Europe and then bring them over. Petrie loves foreigners... I'm sure we'll be able to get one of them.

In order to get Seraphin we would have to aquire another first round pick, because I don't think he'll slide into the second round. Ryan Richards isn't a lock to be in the draft. Since he's an international player he's not restricted by the same withdrawal dates that the college players had to abide by. So he could still pull his name out of the draft if he doesn't think he's going to be drafted high enough. But he would be the kind of player you might gamble on in the second round.

True, Ryan Richards could still withdraw. But with a good work out at the nba combine, his stock is pretty high. He could a guarantee from a late first round team.

Seraphin, who I really like, will go in the 20s for sure.

The grizzles have 2 additional picks in the 20s and may be open to trading them. Minn. also has a pick in the 20s and may not want 3 rookies on their team. Maybe our second round pick (which is slotted 10 spots lower) and a future second round pick may get us there. Petrie could also try to shop Garcia, who would be a good grab for the grizzlies if they lose Gay.
