tough loss. Moody should've made it.

Shanahan should have gotten closer with 35 seconds and a timeout in his pocket. Shanahan remains a choking dork when it comes to the clutch. Gonna be hard to win Super Bowls how he coaches when it matters.

No he didn’t. He had a terrible game and lost to PJ Walker.
Dude had a 45 yard drive that only ended unsuccessfully when his kicker shanked a PAT length kick that would have won the game. I get that turning on the WB whenever he doesn’t have a ten bajillion yard fifteen touchdown night is sorta your gimmick but none of that loss was ultimately on Purdy.

He got the team downfield and should’ve got the win. Vintage Kyle Shanahan clock and play mismanagement(after it being surprisingly good for the first 90 percent of the drive l) and a choke by the kicker cost him.

no doubt he overall had a trash game and oddly lost to the worst QB he has faced but when he needed to get the ball downfield to give the team a chance to win. He did

BS call aside, feels like Purdy got exposed today. If the OLine struggles, it’s over.

Oof.

He certainly missed a few throws, but Aiyuk literally dropped 3 passes for a 1st down, one for a walk-in 60 yd TD, we couldn't stop committing penalties to put us in 2nd and 20 vs a top 3 defense on the road and Deebo/CMC go out early. Trent Williams clearly wasn't 100% and this quite possibly was the worst officiating crew of all time. They were horrible for both sides early in the game and just straight up gave the game to the Browns there at the end.

Anyone putting this on Purdy isn't watching the game.

Also, not shot-out to Wilks for not adjusting to the screen game, the literal only way the Browns could move the ball threw the air.

Yeah…really not sure about Wilks. I’ll give it more time because I remember it took awhile for the defense to get into character after Ryans took over for Saleh..and there was organizational continuation there.

Wilks is new so it might take longer but they’ve underperformed despite their ranking. The defense should be more dominant than it’s been. Missing Greenlaw today too.

1st and 10. 35 seconds. 1 time out. I cannot fathom why Shanahan didn’t throw a couple of out routes to get even closer. Another absolute masterclass in late-game coaching by Shanahan. I cannot wrap my head around the end of this game.

I guess the fear was that Cleveland would rally and cause a negative play for the Niners but the Browns looked pretty much broken once Aiyuk made that play to get across the creepy orange leprechaun guy.

Oof rough day for the top two teams in the league.

4 turnovers, a missed FG and drawing up a pass play on 3rd and 10 with 2 minutes to go instead of running and trusting your defense that has dominated all day to stop Wilson is not going to get it done.

Yes they could've gone for 2 more pass plays, maybe 3. or 1 or 2 run plays. Too conservative. The kick would've been wide regardless of distance though. NEVER waste time when behind!

Most if not all QBs are going to struggle when the OLine can’t keep the pressure off them. Fwiw, this is what Justin Fields goes through every game, every pass with the D in his grill because his OLine suuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkks.

We have a rookie kicker and a second year QB and they've been almost perfect so far this season but you had to figure there would be a few bumps along the way. Tough to lose a game on so many missed opportunities but those are the kinds of losses you want... the ones you can learn from. With football I tend to think you're better off dropping a gimme early in the season so everyone remembers what losing feels like and there's no sdded "perfect season on the line" pressure in the playoffs.

It'll be interesting to see how the front office responds. Lynch has been very pro-active about plugging holes mid-season and the O-Line is badly in need of some reinforcements.
