NFL 2023-2024 Thread

You seemed quite adamant that you didn't want Belichick or Harbaugh so congrats.
Yeah, but I was quite adamant that I also didn't want McCarthy back. BUT, seeing that he has one year left on his contract, I am going to safely assume that, barring a miracle of all miracles (i.e. a Super Bowl win in 2025), we will be seeing a new face running up and down the sidelines in Dallas in the 2025 season (and maybe even beyond).

I dunno, if my numbers are right she took a football team that had been a .648 team over a full 30 years prior to her leadership and turned it into a .398 team for her 16-season reign. Maybe she should not talk about football.

Purdy is getting Brady level disrespect. Not saying their careers will pan out the same, but the NFL analysts get all hyped up on first round QB busts they can never fathom when a guy picked late actually has the skills to carry a team. The number one tool a QB has is his brain but that doesn't show up anywhere on the screen because knowing when to take the easy relief receiver vs. the guy everyone thinks is wide open for the big gain doesn't translate.

you ever consider jumping back in?
No, especially at my current age. It would be difficult for me now, I think. I wish I had continued on for a little longer back then, though, but my exit from Taekwondo corresponded with my brother's exit after he received his black belt, so I am not quite sure how long that would've actually lasted, to be perfectly honest with you.

Also, and this is not something I believe I've shared, but don't mind openly doing so. I have a physical disability (Cerebral Palsy). Have had it since birth. So, in a way, the simple facts that I was able to do Taekwondo for as long as I did, and I was able to go as far as I did, are both accomplishments in their own right that I am proud of.

It might be sad that this is the only way for the Raiders to be involved in the playoff conversation, but that organization screwed over the city of Oakland so hard that they lost all three of their professional sports franchises and still owe debt on a soon to be vacant stadium, so it's actually not even a little bit sad.

At least the Raiders are giving me a slight glimpse of hope moving forward, unlike my OTHER favorite football team out there (and the one I consider to be my primary football team).
Marc Davis actually learned from the last time he fired a coach and had success with the interim guy. Jerruh is still running back his bad owner playbook from the late-1990s.

I detest 'weather' games.....not entertaining - light rain forecasted all-game long tomorrow....and its a 'rain on the parade day'. Too much uncertainty introduced. And throw in Moody is a head case, and its a bit uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, I'll miss the 49ers game live (can probably listen to part of it on the radio while driving, but not on TV). I'm going to a Sharks game I had scheduled a while back with 5 friends.
