meanwhile the Blazers, Sixers, and Celtics all need a uniform/logo makeover

Celts will never undergo a logo/uniform makeover in our lifetimes. All they got is tradition to hang onto. The logo was actually created by Auerbach's brother in the 50s. They gave him some color a few years back (where before he was just green & white).

The Blazers' logo is more or less traditional as well. Undergone very slight variation since their inception. Each of the fingers (or rays as they call them) on the logo is supposed to represent something about Portland (yes, stupid).

The Sixers do need an overhaul, back towards tradition. Their look was classic before they screwed it up. I'm sure Allen Iverson had something to do with it.

I've been begging for them to make some black jerseys for the last couple of years, but this logo is horrid. It can't possibly be true, nobody in the NBA would pay someone to come up with that.

The question we have to ask is: Would the Maloofs put a new logo/uniform project into the hands of some "designer" with a free angelfire.com website?

I'll second that. Sometimes classic is just classic and deserves to be left alone. Ask Coca Cola.

;)

Psst. Gargy?

You're not supposed to admit you're a troll. You have to pretend to NOT be a troll in order to really BE a troll.

They did this on purpose, afaic. Took away the original formula and replaced it with something that tasted like a flat RC. All of a sudden, they bring back the original and it sells like hotcakes. Clever...

New Coke

Really? What I heard about the logo is each of the rays is supposed to represent a player, 5 for the home team and 5 for the opposing team, locked in eternal struggle and representing TEAM unity.

Yeah, I knew it was something stupid like that.

Okay, I have to side with Gargamel on this one. I mean, we're talking about the Trailblazers here. Are you sure it's not 5 for the team and 5 for their lawyers???

:D

Ha! Good one. You may be right. I actually don't really care for the logo myself, but thought what it represented was cool.......so, I'm sappy and sentimental. The Blazers weren't always complete and utter disgraces, you know.

Silly me.

I thought the Blazers' logo was simply an excuse to put that whirling vortex in the middle of the floor and freak out the other team.

How is that stupid? At least it HAS a meaning.

Ok, you think it's poignant, I don't. Works out for both of us. Maybe I should give them a break...what should a Trail Blazer look like anyway?

Note that there's also a whirling vortex each time a toilet flushes.

the only cool thing about that is the black road uni. thats it

that king thing looks more like a queen then a king IMO

I think the uni design is pretty sexy, but I'm going to side with the majority with regards to the logo. And if you look at the guy's site (which is up now), he recycles the design for the uniforms on several others. Nonetheless, I like how it's sort of a take on the design that preceded the current ones. I especially like what he did with the Bulls and T-Wolves jerseys. The Clippers jerseys were pretty nice as well, as I noticed the guy took the color scheme of the San Diego Padres. Very clean. The Wolves have awful jerseys as they are right now. The following teams need new designs:

T-Wolves
Hawks
Bucks
Nets
Clippers
Bulls
Wizards
Utah (New design is way too plain for a team named the "Jazz")
Hornets
Toronto
Portland
San Antonio

I think I just named half the league there, but it's the truth. There are some awful jerseys in this league.

Don't like both the new uni and logo. I don't like also the current unis.

I want the old unis back, especially the black one. The uni that they wear in 2002, I think that's the last time they wore it.

Don't replace the logo.. Bring back the black unis....

how sick would black away jerseys look. the same design as now but instead of purple, just black, id love that. our away jerseys must say sac on them, to let the other folks know where we're from!!

I prefer the simple Kings. Too many little letters to spell out Sacramento. Besides, "Kings" kind of makes a statement.
