What a difference its been having Garcia back in the lineup. Although hes still coming along after missing so many games its refreshing to see the hustle, defense, and heart we've been missing all year.

Yes i know Garcia isn't the only one that hustles and plays defense. But its nice to see a vet on this team do it at the level that he does. Look at his Blk numbers!
wow! Well i cant wait to see what this team looks like after we rid ourselves of Miller and Moore and replace them with 2 young active players that will hustle and play defense!

Sorry, back to Garcia, this guy is outspoken and brings it all to the game... I think he'll be the team captain next year. Martin is just too quiet, and to be totally real... martins kinda lazy on defense...

I second that. Garcia really makes a difference when he's on the floor. He's kind of like the new Bobby Jackson. I like Kevin Martin, but he reminds me too much like Peja -- a very good player who disappears at the end of close games.

I always liked the Cisco Kid. Even in his first couple seasons where he was making dumb mistakes all the time. It's hard not to like a player who brings the hussle game in and game out. Especially since the Kings have been saddled with vets that dog it in the past few seasons (Bibby, Peja, Miller... the underachieving leftovers of the wonder years).

Francisco Garcia has a killer instinct. Nobody else on the Kings has it even close. Maybe Bjax, but he's no longer a primary threat. The so-called primary threats are all to damn soft - not Cisco!

I've gotten to the point where I really enjoy watching Cisco play. There's one thing for sure - he leaves it all out there on the court.

Just one side comment, if I may? I'll be very, very happy if/when we can return to the time when we can praise one player without feeling the need to dump on another one.

Some of the best Kings basketball I saw in the past couple of years was when Garcia and Martin were both on the court, splitting defenses and having a real good time. I hope to see that again...And adding Jason and Spencer into the mix, along with either Beno or Bobby B. just makes me a very happy Kings fan.

Ditto. It's like praising one player somehow requires cutting another player off at the knees for some unknown reason. Like maybe the universe would be out of balance or something.

I've followed Cisco for quite a while. I like him a lot in college because of his tenacity on the floor. My only reservation was his inconsistancy with his shot and stupid turnovers. Well kudo's to Cisco. He's worked hard on his game and made himself into an NBA player. In many ways, he brings more game to the floor than Martin does.

Thats more of a compliment to Cisco, than a criticism of Martin.

I think we need to dump Miller and Salmons for some young talent, and if we do i don't think we have to worry about replacing Salmons starting position, because cisco has been playing GREAT in martins abscence. This also opens up the possiblity of trading Salmons for a PG..which opens up trading Beno...which opens up a giant package of Miller, Salmons, and Beno for a star PG! Ok, im getting to far ahead of myself now. Still, good job Cisco.

I can see that Killer Instinct growing in JT aswell.
But yah Garcia is def the teams captain. Hes brings the intangibles no other King brings.

I'm getting tired of people bashing or wanting to trade Salmons. Sure he overdribbles sometimes, but he's about as good of a value as they come in this league. He defends and rarely gets hurt. He shoots a good FG % and can fill up the box score at times. Salmons is not our problem.

We are not going to get a star PG for 3 above average players. The Hornets wouldn't trade Chris Paul for any combination of our players. Nor would the Jazz part with Williams for any of our players. We aren't ever going to trade for a star PG. If we somehow manage to get a star PG, it will be through the draft.

I'm not bashing him....if anything im complimenting him. Alot of teams can use his skills and we should take advantage of that right now unless you wan't to sign him for above MLE in 3 years or let him go for nothing. I think we could put a package together for Baron Davis considering his age (29) and the fact that the clippers are going absolutely no where in the time between now and when his contract is up 5 years from now. I say we package for him and an expiring filler giving us enough money to sign 1 good/star player in 2010 and go from there.

Why would be want Baron Davis? The guy is injury prone and shoots like 40% for his career AND he makes like 15 mill a year now. No thanks.

Baron Davis? Good grief. We might as well try and get Jason Williams to come out of retirement, bad knees and all. At least we'd know what to expect with J-Will.

I don't have a problem with people proposing trades that make sense and that may have Salmons involved. He's a very good basketball player and certainly has a lot of value around the league. What I don't like is when people use the words " Dump" or " Get rid of ". Implying a lack of worth to the player.

The question is: Is he part of the future of the team? Not being privey to the interworkings of managements mind, I don't know the answer to that question. But, if not, then go ahead and trade him. Just get his equal value in return.

It never ceases to amaze me how many threads get hijacked into trade discussions. I rather preferred the original intent of this one - talking about Cisco emerging as a real force on the court and a team leader. I like his passion and his focus. And you certainly cannot question his dedication to the game...

I hope we continue to see him taking the lead on and off the court.

I know alot of people were not thrilled about the Garcia extension but in just the few games hes played this year. He looks to be more than worth every dollar he got. Garcia could be the glue for this team in the future. He gets along with everyone, while being outspoken, and getting on people to pick it up. He exhibits on the floor and off everything that you would want from a player, all the while knowing his role as the 6th man and not complaining about coming off the bench... Again I'd vote Garcia as team captain!

I agree with everything right down the line, until the last 7 words.

:p

It's the team that has to go for him as team captain, not the fans.

:)

I'd like to echo those comments.

IDK! Im just throwin stuff out there. My main point is that we can put a pretty good package together with Garcia playing so good. Thats it. Any ridiculous trades i may suggest are purely speculative and they are just ideas. I just like throwin ideas out there to see what people think. Still...Barons slightly better than J-will...you got to give him that much. :p

I wouldn't say alot of people were not thrilled. Just that the ones that were not were more vocal about. Those of us that were happy about didn't say much because well basically, it doesn't matter what we say or the others say. He got it so they can deal with it. :D
