[Game] Nets @ Kings Game Thread -- 11/19 @ 7PM

Not hating but it's frustrating you gotta admit, this guy hasnt gotten any better. high hopes for the kid. maybe too high. He just hit a jumpshot so everyone gets off his back but remember his turnovers and poor decision making..

he is a kid coming off the rookie of the year, every teams best defender is assigned to him, teams have SOO much film on him. he gets double teamed half the time. he just needs to adjust. he will be fine. remember he is almost avg 20/5/5/2.....again can he get some kinda love?

Most of what you say in game threads doesn't come across as mature, or intelligently thought out. It seems to be based on the last play a particular player made. Seems you overreact a lot.

I'll explain it tomorrow on an off day, where not as much emotion is invlolved.

I'm emotional about my team. I'm a die hard kings fan born and raised in sacramento, what do you expect.

Most of your posts which I've read are very repetitive. You like to defend your favorite guys and thats great, but sometimes they deserve criticism too ;)

Donte and DMc proved tonight that they can ball, and they should be getting a good amount of playing time from here on out, so long as they keep the effort up.

They say the 2nd year is the hardest for those star rookies. We'll have a better idea of how Reke adjusts by the allstar break.

Everyone forgets that absolutely everybody was calling for Durant's head for most of his second year in the league.

Head and Dally took Lopez and Harris out of the game. Thats what your defensive players are supposed to do. Bravo to them.

Its a shame Casspi is getting the Donte treatment. Head is the guy who is unexpectedly getting playing time, So sooner or later it would be nice to see Casspi snatch minutes from him with Cisco playing in Heads spot. Hard to say thats what SHOULD happen right now though, as Head played well on both ends of the floor.

Much as I would like to see Omri back in the mix, I am unwilling to give up even an inch of the defense we had tonight. So if Omri can find it in himself to make a signficant defensive impact so that there is no falloff when we swap out Head, then possibly, sure. But that's got to be the standard.

I dont mind Head being out there, he was great on D tonight. Took a couple of ill advised shots but over all had decent decision making.

Im not sure if Cisco can run an offense the way Head does. Granted its not very good, but Head does pass the ball, get some movement, distribute wher its needed and has good size and athleticism to match up with other pg's.

I really dont want to see Casspi sulking on the bench though. Im sure hes under a lot of pressure to do well for his Israeli fanbase, but basketball is a team sport and hes going to have to get with the program

This is virtually a 180 degree turnaround from what we've been seeing. Everybody gets an A. Westphal an A+ for all the crap he's been put through. Yeah, Tyreke, made some mistakes, but he comes back and hits a huge shot (No, don't shoot! Yes!) down the stretch. The team played much, much more intelligently and with much more teamwork. Looks like Dad finally got through to the kids. At least for a game. Now let's build from here.

If the Kings would have shot anywhere decently, they would have blown NJ right out of the water. It would be nice if one of these days they finally could hit some three pointers. Maybe Beno's last second shot is the start...

Completely agree. Don't change anything until a player, such as Omri, forces Westphals hand because of great play in practice.

The defense we saw tonight showed more promise than at any other time this young season. Don't change a thing for the time being.

I still think our team would be better if Tyreke fully embraced the SG position. Seems like when Head is out there, we have 2 PGs. Head moves the ball, Tyreke stays at the top of the key. He does get in the post at times, and thats what id like to see more of.

What was with that play where DMC gets the ball ABOVE the free throw line???!
They ran it like 4 out of 5 times around the 6:00 mark in the 4th qtr, and each time nothing good came of it.

Is THAT what they think "passing into the post" is?

Why didn't DMC go down low, into the paint, and call for the ball? He wasn't even trying, or they didn't call that play until they FINALLY sent one down low to Landry, and lo and behold it worked out well for them.

Other than this, it was nice to see PW not getting picked apart by KF this game.
And Tyreke is not playing well, it's as simple as that. 3 TO's in the 4th and blown defensive plays (GOTTA jump for rebounds, Reke!)

Nice to see the win, but KF's gotta remember - if the Nets made 2 more 3 ptrs than their 2-for-11 performance, the Kings lose this game.
Not too reassuring of win, but some nice positives (Donte, DMC!)

That doesn't matter though because they didn't, if the Kings would of played defense like they did in quarters 1,3 and 4 they would of won by 10. See shoulda, woulda, coulda's don't matter.

Until Omri learns to be a solid defender who knows how much time he gets, he needs to work harder.

Kinda hard to jump when your ankle's in bad shape.

If you were a 'diehard Kings fan' then you wouldn't call the best player on your favorite team 'terrible' after one bad play. Poser.

edit:

To clarify for you, even tho I am hoping that you don't have limited intelligence to go along with those overemotional hormones of yours, thats akin to Laker fan calling Kobe terrible in his second season. Juvenile and shortsighted.

This was just an ugly game, not much offense from either teams. Kings did play some defense for once on most parts. But, this isn't really encouraging. It's against a Nets team that averages 90 something points. I hope we come ready to play against New Orleans or it could get really ugly really fast. I guess it's time for Casspi to be in the doghouse ala Donte. I see that coach expects defense out of his players and if they don't provide it, they will see the bench. Omri just didn't look enthusiastic at all on the bench, not cheering for his teammates or anything. I hope we don't see a pattern here where he turns into a crybaby because he isn't getting playing time. He should get playing time, don't get me wrong, but maybe some sitting and watching the game will do him some good. I don't understand what was with throwing Cousins the ball at the top of the key, he should be down on the block and work their offense inside out. It's more effective that way and the ball moves atleast somewhat. Landry got owned by Humphries, 18/10? Really? Good thing he can score because he would be right next to Casspi otherwise.
