NCAA March Madness (merged)

Welcome to the Dark Side.
Do you have a good widget or score tracker to pick which game to watch at any given moment or are you just flipping around. I am mostly watching the closer seeds but flipped to NDSU-KU for a bit and its closer than I expected so I may leave it on just because I hate the Jayhawks.

Right now I'm watching Utah ST and Marquette. When a game is close, I usually watch that one. So, I just keep an eye on the scoreboard.

Yeah I have safari and it doesn't allow me to watch it. I use Explorer.

BTW, OK St/Tenn and Marquette/Utah St are March Madness at it's best right now.

I hate IE but I find the occasional benefit - another one is that when you watch in full screen in Firefox if you have multiple displays and click on a window in the second screen it stays full in IE but shrinks back in FF. I'm not quite sure I have the balls to watch on a full screen yet though!

Also - firefox appears to block you from switching games during commercials and IE appears to allow it.

Idk what I was thinking when I made my brackets... I picked Utah St in both!!!

I just wasn't thinking. I thought I picked the Golden Eagles. Oh well,

Dionte Christmas is showing Harden how to play right now. Harden 0-6 with 2 points with just 7 mins left. Arizona St. still up by 5 tho

Dear Pitt. You are supposed to be good. 1 seeds are supposed to smash the bejesus out of 16 seeds. I picked you to go all the way against my better judgement. Please step up your game.

Also I am trying to evaluate coach Dixon for my beloved Wildcats' opening this tournament. First round failure will not be tolerated.

Thank you.

eta: oh man what was I thinking I had WV as a sleeper going deep :( first big bust of the day as I was perfect up until that pick.

A couple of great games this morning. Had Utah State winning but the pressure got them late and they gave that game away. On the other hand Dayton and Oklahoma St came through for me. Although i can't take credit for the Oklahoma St pick. Those teams were so evenly matched that i made my pick without any real conviction. To me that was easily the best game of the tournament so far.

Not a lot of upset so far. Arizona has the talent to upset Utah but they don't play the smartest brand of basketball. Watch out for Cleveland State, they are better then a 13 seed and Wake is a inconsistent team. If they don't show up they could be bounced early. USC has a real shot to take out BC but that wouldn't be much of a upset.

Per tradition I have 'Zona winning one more game than they should win, so I've got them today.

The year they won it all was the year I picked them for a first round upset victim. Ha!

Amazingly my final 4 came out to be a virtual wishlist of coaching candidates for the Cats, minus maybe Izzo as the 5th - Few, Cal, Pitino and Dixon. From what I hear at least 2 of them are real possibilities. We shall see.

Arizona should be looking for a new coach with the tradition that program has. It could be a good move for Jamie Dixon to make the move out of a loaded big east. Follow in the steps of his mentor Ben Howland, and it would make UCLA and Zona games a lot more interesting. He would certainly get better recruits going to Arizona as well. As a fan of the Pac 10 it would be nice to see.

As for Izzo and Pitino, never gonna happen.

I don't care for Izzo, a lot of UofA fans do. Pitino I love/hate. He built a decent program at my alma mater (Boston U), destroyed the Celts and I don't see him ever staying in one place. I think Arizona is a step up from Louisville, but he might like the Louisville/UK thing in some perverse way.

I loved Coach Cal when I lived in Boston. I think Few is bound for the Pac-10 eventually but Oregon a more likely destination. Dixon I have spent the least amount of time watching.

I think Calipari is a far better recruiter then he is a coach. I worry that he might have more trouble in a legit conference. Few would be a good pull but like you said i think if he makes the transition he stays in the north west where he is a bigger name.

Dixon is a very good coach especially on the defensive end. He runs a similar system to UCLA just with a greater emphasis on getting the ball down low. The only knock against him is he can't seem to put a good tourney run together. Pitt didn't play well today and if they can't get out of the sweet 16 again that criticism would gain credence. Arizona has a great game plan. Really taking advantage of their athleticism with the full court press. 11 to already for Utah.

What a joke the MWC is. Once again they are not even close to competitive. I was stupid enough to pick Utah to get to the sweet 16. So dumb, also looks like USC is gonna pull this out. Good tourney overall for the pac 10, which is a surprise to me. Oh well my bracket was bound to go to crap sooner or later.

Todays games have been really entertaining overall. Lets hope these night games are more of the same.

Always good to see the Pac-10 do well. I had USC going to the sweet 16, had they lost that entire regional would have been destroyed for me with WVU's loss. That's my only miss today so far but a painful one.

I picked USC in the 1st round, but have them falling to Michigan State in 2nd round.

The two possible upsets i mentioned this afternoon went down. Arizona and Cleveland St with the upsets. Didn't pick either in my brackets so i shouldn't take to much credit. One of them is going to the sweet 16, i don't think too many people saw that coming.

Man, Cleveland State is all over Wake right now

Man, I've been cheerin for them all year...and I had them going to the Final Four . Looks like I'm out of the running. I think this means that Louisville makes it to the Final Four, I think Wake were the only team that had a chance to beat them in their conference, even if they didn't match up well with them.

C-St was out of nowhere for me, too bad as I'd have loved to pick the Cats for two rounds... burn me as they always will. I have Louisville losing to Pitt in the final.

Damn these late games and OT... Siena just hit a 3... I have tOSU though.

Double OT between Ohio State and Siena. Wisconsin and Florida state in OT as well. This has been one of the best first rounds of the tourney in years.

That is the darned truth. With a bit of OT's tonight, the 1st round is ending on a very high/competitive/exciting note.
