NBA Summer League 2014 in Las Vegas

MarShon Brooks, Ben McLemore, Ray McCallum, Quincy Acy, Ray MacCallum, etc. Plenty of good talent. Not to mention a 7'5'' dude out there... Should be a good team.

Coach Malone on khtk radio interview reveals Quincy Acy to play in Vegas Summer League. Acy is one of my favorite Kings on Roster I think it's lost on some that he was only drafted in 2012 and still has a lot of room to develop into a contributing role player that can play mins at the 4 and 3.
I remember being over in the US when Acy was playing for Baylor against Kentucky and stood Anthony Davis - Acy was best on court that game and it wasn't until he sat down late in the game that Davis came to play. He can definitely play.

Also, is Nick Wiggins any good? On the same level as his brother in any way?

Unfortunately, no. He's pretty bad. Has 0 chance of making the team.

Why so many (unknown) guards on the Summer roster? Are most of them PG's, which maybe I can understand. Probably most of them will go to Reno and the D-league?

Most are shooters, something Kings need on the bench. Better question is "are any of them really good ball handlers, dribblers and distributors?" The PG designation has been worn down to a bowl of grey soup by now so imagine Coach is looking for "team" players who can handle the ball and shoot over most guards. Stauskas at 6-6 is a very good ball handler for example. Guess you'll have to go to summer league and see for yourself like we are. Its really an exciting time, try it.

Personal OT update: Thanks to all who said the cataract surgery would be a breeze. It totally WAS! I cannot believe they actually used a laser to destroy a lens, cut into my eyeball and inserted a new lens and I felt nothing. Right now there's still no pain or discomfort. Just a bit of itching, which I'm told is completely normal. If you've been considering this procedure, it is nothing to worry about. :)

Glad to hear it went smoothly. :)

So glad, VF. As I said, I'll be having this done at some point. I've heard pretty much very positive things.

I'm quite near-sighted, so being close to 20-20 seems like a miracle to me. :)

Don't like itchy eyes though.

Sorry for the side track. :-P

The itching subsided, I went in today for my surgical follow-up and I could not believe the improvement in my vision. I could read lines on the vision chart I couldn't even see before; I can see the crawl on the TV without any problem; I can read everything but very close small print - all without glasses! And this is only 24 hours after the procedure. My doctor said I should notice even more improvement within the next few days. I could not be happier. :)

Payton and Smart's summer league first games were so so. They both looked like they were adjusting the game speed. I really interested to see how Nik handles the vegas summer league coming up.

Smart had like 5 steals.

That's what he's going to be for Boston. The guy who guards the CP3's, Lillard's, Wall's, Westbrooks's etc.

It's so hard to watch the Orlando summer league because of the level of the camera, it's just awful. And they cut to under the basket every 2 seconds, ugh just awful coverage.

Different procedure, but I got to watch a lasik eye surgery about a year or two ago. It's amazing how quick the whole thing is. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Same with aaron Gordon's. he looked lost out there the whole time. I'm very interested to see what else stauskas can do besides shoot. All the clips and highlights of him are just shooting montages.

Check out the video I have put together detailing out Stauskas' game.
I'm more interested in seeing his play making than his shooting at Summer League.
And of course, I along with everyone else, will be seeing how well he plays defense.

There's actually a lot of him doing ball handling drills....and doing them very well

Watching Miami and Brooklyn, both Dante Green and Honeycut are playing... I keep expecting to see Mateen Cleaves suit up.

Green looks like a different player now. He's got more weight on him and looks like much more of a post player.

Napear looking solid for Miami

In summer league, you really need to throw out the first game due to most/all players being overhyped, nervous, and unfamiliar game speed and style. Game 2 gets better and more organized with players settling down and doing what the coaches want. Reality for draftee performance shows up in game 3 and 4, this based on 16 years of summer league observations. Ben McLemore didn't really get it going until game 5 last year and in several of our opinions will need another year or two to breat out.

Noel looked really really good wow we were 1 pick away, Philly got a STEAL with him @ 6 I think he will be the best player of that draft, wow what a fit he would have been next to Cousins. I know it's summer league but the things he was doing imo will easily transfer to the NBA the steals/blocks/activity man if him and Joel pan out it's not going to be fun going against them one bit I don't care who you are.
