Seriously that is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in my life. I like lebron, but the way he performed in the finals was disgraceful to say the least. I've even jumped on the lebron jokes bandwagon the last few days, but some of this hate is getting a little ridiculous.

To be honest, I don't get what business a bottom of the minor leagues baseball team in Peoria, IL has either jumping on LeBron or celebrating the Bulls wins of ages ago. Just a way to get a few dozen extra people out to their game I guess.

But LeBron deserves everything he gets. And maybe by the time he finally wins people will have been so mean to him for so long that people might actually feel good for him when it happens.

The Chiefs said they are "looking into" whether they can skip the fourth inning -- another poke at James, who scored just 18 points during the fourth quarter in six NBA Finals games.


"We aren't sure if the league will allow it," Peoria president Rocky Vonachen said in a statement. "But if LeBron doesn't need to show up for the fourth, maybe we won't, either."


Among the other James promotional digs planned: A fan will win a "replica" of James' Finals MVP award (which actually went to the Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki), and Heimlich maneuver classes will be offered to help prevent people from "choking in a big situation."

Over the top, but pretty funny. Would have carried more sting though if it had actualkly been an Ohio/Cleveland based team. Illinois is nearby, but its still kind of random.

Former Kings forward Ron Artest, now with the Los Angeles Lakers, wants to change his name to Metta World Peace.

Artest's attorney filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday seeking the change. The 31-year-old NBA star was born Ronald William Artest Jr.

Ron Artest's bid to become Metta World Peace has been delayed.

A Los Angeles court commissioner delayed ruling on a name change petition by the Lakers forward until Sept. 16.

Superior Court spokeswoman Elizabeth Martinez says the court cited Artest's outstanding traffic warrants as the reason for the delay. Additional information was not immediately available.

Artest did not come to court Friday and his attorney Jill Rubin declined to comment after hearing of the judge's decision.

The 31-year-old Artest had been counting on the name change to go through, announcing on Twitter Thursday night that he was planning a celebratory barbecue.

Artest requested the name change in June, stating in court filings only that it was for personal reasons.
