This is a great opportunity for the Nets to start over. If I were them, I’d try to trade (if they can) and go younger. I guess I understand that they tried to make Deron Williams happy, but that team isn’t going to win anything. They really need to start fresh…As far as a coach, I think Mark Jackson - if they’re going to try to change and go younger would be a nice compliment.

I eagerly anticipate Lebron's return to Cleveland and the team's subsequent #1 pick as they yet again find new ways to be terrible.

Here's my reasoning... he's from Cleveland, his wife just posted "home sweet home #330" on instagram regarding Akron. They stay there every off season. He hated the way the decision played out for him. He's got his two titles now and still he deals with constant bs from detractors. I think he's content with two titles and would rather shoot for the moon and go back to Cleveland. Best case he brings a title to Cleveland and is the savior afterall... worst case they never win it, but at least he's once again beloved in his hometown.

He's not motivated by forming another "dream team" wherever the pieces fit I don't think. Been there, done that. Two championships but I don't think he really enjoyed his time in Miami... not like if he would if he goes home and has success. Time to think about after basketball stuff for Lebron... he's going home.
Called it a month ago!

Lin to Lakers. This probably means IT will not get an offer from them. I'm glad the market is shrinking for him just in case it helps us.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced a cap on season tickets at 12,000. They expect to reach the cap by tonight...

Somehow in all the confusion, we missed this tidbit:

The Atlanta Hawks waived guard/forward John Salmons on Thursday, the team announced.

udonis haslem opts out of his 4.6m contract along w/ the big 3 for his new contract.. 5.6m over 2 yrs. he must be pissed for taking a pay cut and not playing for 'ships.

Pelicans are signing Jimmer, and John Salmons. Somebody's trying to steal our style!

Maybe trying to make Reke feel comfortable?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Jimmer's deal is for 1 year? I think this may be his final audition, personally. If he can't find some sort of role or contribute consistently in NO, it may be very hard for him to find a relevant roster spot anywhere else, IMO.

How about going with 6'11" point guard in Milwaukee? New Bucks head coach Jason Kidd just found out teenager Giannis Antetokounmpo listed at 6'9" has not yet quit growing (adding 2 more inches recently) and may actually play him at the point - call it point forward/guard.

They had him bringing up the ball a lot in Summer League. I don't know if it was particularly effective. He spent a lot of possessions looking for his own shot. Maybe it's the setting but he clearly wasn't being a pass-first PG. His handles are fine but nothing spectacular.

Let me put it this way - sometimes Rudy Gay brings the ball up the floor and initiates the offense. With Giannis it's about the same thing. If the Bucks want to do that a lot, so be it, but it's probably better suited for the occasional possession where the PG has leaked out or the D is pressing the PG in the backcourt or Giannis happens to get the rebound.

he's there on a 2 year with player option for the second if read it right. he can bolt after this year as well as love if he doesn't opt in.

I strongly suspect Jimmer could end up playing overseas.

would you trade wiggins/bennett for love?

As an NBA fan, I'd do that move.

Dieng
Sweetums
Wiggins
LaVine
Rubio

Would be a fun team to watch on the break though it would possibly the worst shooting team in the history of the NBA. Substitute Martin into that line-up for LaVine and you might actually be onto a solid team in Minnesota.

The only reason why Cleveland should make that trade is if they were told by Kevin Love himself that the only way he'd play for them is if they traded for him. Why should they give up the Number One pick for a guy that, if they just wait a year, they can sign outright? Didn't James already say not to expect a championship right away? If that all wasn't just lip service, why wouldn't you develop Wiggins?

Well, this is the incredibly inept Cleveland front office we're talking about.

Cleveland would be very stupid to trade Wiggins for Love. Wait a year for him if you want, but in no way would I(if I were Cleveland) trade away a potential talent like that away. Minny has zero leverage, not sure why anyone would be willing to give them much value at all in a trade. Cleveland should offer them their 3 1st round picks for next year lol

With the return of James, the Cleveland front office is desperate to assemble a team to put them deep into the playoffs asap. The ton of potential Wiggins has might be the price they're willing to pay. Nothing would cap the return of James like a nice shiny bauble for the ol' trophy case and a Love/James tandem could go a long way in achieving that goal.
