Not sure I agree with you on Jacki Brown, maybe not the best work Quintan has done but not bad. His screen plays for True Romance and Natural Born Killers were both great. Finaly I would say that Kill Bill 1&2 redeem any doubt that Dusk till Dawn or Jacki Brown may have caused.
Jackie Brown still gets a bad rap, but I'm more and more impressed with each viewing. Doesn't hurt, however, to have Elmore Leonard as your source material (see also: Out of Sight and Get Shorty). Be Cool is completely uninteresting to me, but I'm eagerly looking forward to Don Cheadle's take on Tishomingo Blues as well.
From Dusk Till Dawn is what it is -- an over the top exploitation horror film about Mexican vampire strippers. You're either going to like it or you're not. I love it.
Tarantino's script for Natural Born Killers is so completely different from Oliver Stone's film -- pretty much everything except the character names that remains is with the DVDs deleted scenes. I was unimpressed with Trantino's script when I first read it because I'm so fond of how Stone "ruined" it, but I've read it a few times since, and it grew on me.
True Romance doesn't get the respect it deserves. Great, GREAT script that was just butchered by Tony Scott's direction. The dialogue is still there, but most of the action is about as stylish as a bad episode of "Miami Vice." I'd love to see what it would be like if Tarantino had directed that one himself (especially with that cast).
The others speak for themselves.
