Motivation

English

G-League
A lot has been said about Peja's lack of drive to win in the sense that he often seems to be unmotivated to elevate his game through hard work in the offseason. I was just thinking about the motivation of players. Is it money? A lot of players get a lot of money to practice with the team and sit on the bench without really elevating their game. Is it the pride factor, that of being a winner? I think that winning is great but if you still made a lot of money just being a good player, not great, would that not be enough? Can you fault a player with a natural gift (like being 7 feet tall or being an excellent shooter) for just going through the motions on the way to millions of dollars? Discuss.

if thats the case, then trade his *** for someone who actually wants to play hard.....

Uh...yes I can. Amongst the best in any field money is just a way of keeping score. The great ones all take tremndous pride in being the best. They are fiercely comeptitive and can't stand losing. Its not about the money, its about competing. Winning. Being the best. A rare breed, but absolutely what you are looking for if you are going to pay people mega $$$ or build your team around them.
