Monarchs sign Chameka Scott and Brittany Wilkins

This training camp roster is going to be interesting. Right now they have 18 players listed on the roster at http://www.wnba.com/monarchs/roster/ without considering the new signees. I think they can start training camp with 18 active participants. Assuming that DeMya won't be there, who else will be late to camp? Ticha? Becky? Nicole? And the roster included Miao and FeiFei! Are they coming back?

I've heard Yo is back in town, so she should be available, as well as Kara and Kristen.

Remember last year when we got to see the preseason game vs the Chinese team at Memorial? That was exciting for me, because we got the first glimpse of the new offensively endowed Monarchs. I knew then they would be great! So I'm very eager to see who might be new additions to the team this year. How will our draft picks stack up against the camp returnees? I was impressed with Greenwalt last year -- for me it was a toss up between her and Erin to make the roster. Will Kim Smith outshine both Erin and Cisti? Will Scholanda be a better fit, or will Anne or Dionnah work their way onto the final roster?

Is it May 5 yet?

GO MONARCHS!!!!! No Bricks in Oh-Six! (somebody help me out here -- that slogan sucks!)

I hope Buescher comes back. She may not be the most skilled player, but she always played hard, didn't do too much, and certainly never hurt us on the defensive end. She was great when we needed energy.

Wow 18 players...that's a training camp! Should be a very intresting choice for the coaches. I'd like to take a sneak peek at a real practice. Any news on some open practices for us MVP's?
I'm with you HoopMatron....Is it game time yet!

I went to a gathering last week at ARCO for invitees to encourage new season ticket participation. Several new people signed up for seats. :)

Anyway, Coach T and Coach Ambers each spoke. They talked about: Ticha probably being late as her team is in 1st place in Russia; Yo is home and resting and working in the gym; they are excited about the new players they picked up in the draft; Erin could get more playing time in the post; and, among other things, Miao and FeiFei will not return this year as they will be working with their national team this year. They plan on returning the following year, however.

I'd gotten 3rd hand info with the same info about Feifei and Miao a few weeks ago, but didn't want to post it here until I had confirmation. I hope the new lineup can duplicate the great chemistry we all saw last season!
