Mobley 19 points/5reb/4assists/3steals/2blocks

Peja4threee

G-League
What a great addition to the team. Just wait until April when we have BJAX & MO coming off the bench. Mo can back up Peja and BJAX, back up Bibby. What an awesome rotation that will be! GO KINGS!

The clutch three comes as no surprise if you've followed his career.

Looks like he's also shored up our interior defense with his shotblocking prowess. ;)

he seems to come up with a big play when we need it most....the steal saturdy and today taht led to a basket, the clutch three, and the steal at the end of the game.

And, IMHO, perhaps the best thing? He's really happy to be part of the Kings and just wants to do whatever he can to help the TEAM win. That is huge.

Mobley was the deciding factor in the last two games. I can't wait until he gets used to the Kings play sets. Its going to be awesome!

The Cat is awesome! Clutch play is what we need from everybody. Good to see Cat play tough at the end of close games even though he's hardly played with these guys!

I told you guys the difference in his defense and Doug's wasn't so much. He gambles less but is quicker and a little more athletic. And of course, the shooting.

Here is a premature question:

Cat is playing great (certainly, the fact that this is a contract year might have something to do with it), but if he does make a major impact as a starter (as he has been), do you think the Kings will try to spend some $$ to resign him? Maybe let Bjax leave to free agency (or sign and trade) to free up some cash? Who else could we move to free up cap space for the Cat?

We don't need to free up any capspace for Cat. First, we're way the hell over the cap, so its not even a consideration for us. And second, he'll be our FA so we can sign him for as much as we want to -- no limits. Remember too, Cat is already earning 5 million or so, and its not likely he's ever goingto command $10 million or anything on the open market. So to resign him would likely land us somewhere int he $7-$8 million range, which is about what Doug was making and only a couple million more than he's making now ("only"!). Its certainly doable unless the Maloofs are really getting cheap.

thats awesome.

also, look at the game corey maggette had. 2 for 17. now that is some good D by cat. i know people were wearly about losing doug's D, but cat is a very underrated defender. he did a pretty good job in the playoffs last year on kobe. it's tough to lose doug, but the kings got equal if not more value in return.

WTG CAT!

2/17 maggette had a terrible night.

wish they can play good defense on a newly-rising 3 point team Trail Blazers.

just to be fair - Pedja was on Maggette too so they share the credit here

Brickie, so where does that leave BJ? Isn't he a free agent? and if he is, if we don't pick him up, doesn't that leave us with more room?

We hold a team option on Bobby, and of course its for a small $$ amount again. He could be a very valable trading chip in the offseason (ending contract/top PG with small contract) if we decide not to keep him. But won't cost us that much if we do decide to hang onto him. Look at it this way to keep both Bobby and Mobley shouldn't cost us that much more than Doug and Bobby were costing us at the beginning of the season.

How far are we over the cap.

If You combine Webber, Miller and Bibby - we are already over the cap. They will make even more next season. Bottomline forgett the salary cup.

Come on now. It was a serious question and I wanted a serious thought out answer. You invalidate your claims with such exaggerations.
Their combined salary is about 35 mil. That is nowhere near the cap.

I must have miscalculated something. Might be working with wrong numbers. Do you have exact numbers.

A question here: is location considered on this cap thing? For example, CA is more expensive to live in than MN, so Kings should be paid higher than Wolves?

I have Webb at 17.5 M, Bib at 10.5 M, and Miller at 8 M.....Pedja at a cheap 7 M

Actual kids the real concern suld be Mo Evans. His 600K contract will not be repeated. Someone will be willing to pay him a nice chunk of change next year, adn I would ahte to see the Kings loose him.

A lot of people will be disappointed if the Kings lose Mo Evans in the offseason. It will be just like Jim Jackson leaving all over again..............I don't want to look in the offseason right now. We will worry about that that when it is the offeason and just have to wait. Right now we have to worry about the next game. The Portland Trailblazers.

I won't be all that disappointed. I wasn't all that disappointed when Jackson left. That's just me, though.

We are not the players, we can worry about whatever we want. :D
